    Today is Sunday. The sky is full of sunshine, so does my life. At about 9:00 a.m., I go to the bookstore with my friends. There was a lot of new books.     第六处：考查连词。句意：这部电影叫《泰坦尼克号》，很多人在购票处外面等待着。根据句意可知上下文之间是顺接关系，而不是转折关系。所以要把but改为and。

    第七处：考查固定句式。句意：用了我三个小时才看完这部电影。固定句式：It takes sb some time to do sth做某事花掉某人…时间。原句中sb做动词take的宾语，to是多余的，所以要删除to。

    第八处：考查语态。句意：看完这部电影，所有人都被深深地感动了。主语everyone与动词move构成被动关系，要用被动语态。所以要把moving改为moved。

    第九处：考查固定短语。句意：我的一些朋友甚至哭了起来。动词短语burst into tears突然哭起来，所以要把out改为into。

    How is everything going with you? In your last e-mail you asked me to tell you something about Isaac Asimov. Here is something I know about him.

    Isaac Asimov, an American scientist and a writer, was born on 2 January, 1920. Asimov’s talent for writing became obvious at the age eleven. He told a friend two chapter of a story he had written. The friend thought he was retelling a story from a book, what surprised Asimov and from that moment, he started to take himself serious as a writer. Asimov began having stories publish in science fiction magazines in 1939. Throughout her life, Asimov received many awards, both for his science fiction books and his science books. Points were awarded for parttime jobs, housework, effort in school，and ability to deal with problems.

    The link between what the men had done as boys and how they turned out as adults was surprisingly sharp．Those who had done the most boyhood activities were twice as likely to have warm relations with a wide variety of people，five times as likely to be well paid and 16 times less likely to have been unemployed. The researchers also found that IQ and family social and economic class made no real difference in how the boys turned out.

    Years later, some students from California came to our village. They were organizing an educational workshop for local people. We would learn new things and technology about growing cotton, and have the chance to network. This was a good chance for me to learn something new and useful. Of course I was willing to take part in it, but my parents said no again this time.

    I have wonderful and generous parents, who are kind to everybody around them. Even when our family could hardly afford food, they would welcome guests with coffee and cookies. I knew they refused me because they wanted the best for me. I knew they were worried about me being away from them, but I knew they were wrong. Attending this workshop would be good for our family. I would be able to learn something new and useful, and our business would grow much faster than it could.
