    15．I will never forget what my old headmaster told me．Normally when you are only 15years of age you do not remember most of the things that are taught by your teachers．But，this particular story is one such lesson that I will never forget．Every time I am puzzled，I get reminded of this story．
    It was a normal Monday morning at an assembly，and he was addressing the students on important things in life and about committing（专注） ourselves to what is important to us．This is how the story went：
    An old man lived in a certain part of London，and he would wake up every morning and go to the subway．He would get the train right to Central London，and then sit at the street corner and beg．He would do this every single day of his life．He sat at the same street corner and begged for almost 20years．
    His house was dirty，and a stench came out of the house and it smelled horrible．The neighbors could not stand the smell anymore，so they called in the police officers to clear the place．The officers knocked down the door and cleaned the house．There were small bags of money all over the house that he had collected over the years．
    The police counted the money，and they soon realized that the old man was a millionaire．They waited outside his house in hope of sharing the good news with him．When he arrived home that evening，he was met by one of the officers who told him that there was no need for him to beg any more as he was a rich man now，a millionaire．
    He said nothing at all； he went into his house and locked the door．The next morning he woke up as usual，went to the subway，got into the train，and sat at the street corner and continued to beg．
    Obviously，this old man had no great plans，dreams or anything significant for his life．We learn nothing from this story other than staying focused on the things we enjoy doing，commitment．We should remain true to our course，although it may mean committing ourselves to things that people around us would normally disapprove．Just keep it in mind that commitment attracts wealth．

    Tower Bridge
    Tower Bridge has stood over the Thames in London since 1894and is one of the finest，most recognizable bridges in the world．It is the bridge in London you may see in movies and on advertising writing for London．Tower Bridge is the only Thames bridge that can be raised．It used to be raised about 50 times a day，but nowadays it is only reised 4 to 5 times a week．
    London Bridge
    The construshtion of the first stone London Bridge started in 1176and finished years later．Houses and shops were once built on the bridge，which made the road so narrow that it was often jammed with people，horse and carts．A‘keep left'rule was made in 1733to keep the traffic moving．This became the rule of the road in Britain．In 1757the old bridge was pulled down and a new one was built in 1831．Interestingly，that one was pulled down again in 1967but rebuilt in Lake Havasu City，the USA，as a tourist attraction，The present London Brdge was opened in 1973．
    Millennium Bridge
    Millennium Bridge is a bridge for walkers．It was built to connect the Tate Modern Art Gallery to the city and St Paul's Cathedral（圣保罗大教堂） in 2000．Thousands of people rushed to see the new bridge．Almost imediately after open-ing，the bridge had to be shut because of the dangerous waving caused by too many visitors．It has now been reopened．The bridge is about 320meters，costs 16million pounds to build and only takes walkers．
    Westminster Bridge
    Westminster Bridge is a road and foot traffic bridge over the Thames between Westminster and Lambeth．The present bridge，opened in 1862，is the second on the site and took the place of an earlier bridge opened in 1750．The British romntic poet，William Wordsworth，wrote a famous popem Composed up-on Westminster Brdge in the autumn of 1802．
