Every morning Steve went to work by train. As he has a long trip, he always buys newspaper. It helps make the time passing more quickly. One Tuesday morning, he turned over the sports page. He wanted to see the report about an important football match the night before. The report was so interesting that he forgot to get off at his station. He did not know it unless he saw the sea. He got off at the next station, but had to wait a long time for a train to go back. It was no doubt that he arrived late at the office. His boss was angry when Steve told to him why he was late. “Work is very important than football!” he shouted.
第四句:over→to
第五句: see→read
第七句:unless→until
第八句:but→and
It→There
第十一句:very→more
短语make sb/sth do sth让sb/sth做…;其中动词原形do前面省略了不定式符号to。
短语turn to… 所以要把over改为to。
动词read与名词report形成短语read the report阅读这个报告,动词see与report搭配不当。
本句中not...until…
There is no doubt that… 所以要把it改为there。
所以要把very改为more。

It is universally acknowledged that first impressions matter a lot. If you want to know how to meet people, just follow these steps.
◆Live in the moment.
To meet new people, the first thing you have to do is enjoy the present moment of the new conversation. Let go of your expectations and fears. 【1】
When you approach a new person, don’t ask yourself, “How do I look?” or “How do I sound?” Instead, ask, “What would this person like to talk about?” or “What matters to this person?”
◆ 【2】
If you keep up your confidence, people feel that you’re a person who is worth talking to. You should be confident before you walk into a room with new people in it and build your confidence as the conversation goes along. Just smile, talk about the things that you love, and show everyone that you love who you are, where you are, and what you do.
【3】 Stand tall, maintain eye contact, and don’t fidget (烦躁) with your hands or look at the floor. When you introduce yourself, speak clearly and loudly enough that you’ll be heard.
◆Be positive.
【4】 You should smile from time to time. Talk about the things you love, the things that make you happy, and your interests to keep people engaged.
Don’t talk about your longstanding hatred for a certain teacher, or classmate. 【5】 The occasional “That’s so true!” or “I know exactly what you mean!” will be far more positive.

Urbanization
Until relatively recently, the vast majority of human beings lived and died without ever seeing a city. The first city was probably founded no more than 5,500 years ago. 【1】 In fact, nearly everyone lived on farms or in tiny rural (乡村的) villages. It was not until the 20th century that Great Britain became the first urban society in history — a society in which the majority of people live in cities and do not farm for a living.
Britain was only the beginning. 【2】 The process of urbanization — the migration (迁徙) of people from the countryside to the city — was the result of modernization, which has rapidly transformed how people live and where they live.
In 1900, fewer than 40% of Americans lived in urban areas. Today, over 82% of Americans live in cities. Only about 2% live on farms. 【3】
Large cities were impossible until agriculture became industrialized. Even in advanced agricultural societies, it took about ninetyfive people on farms to feed five people in cities. 【4】 Until modern times, those living in cities were mainly the ruling elite (精英) and the servants, laborers and professionals who served them. Cities survived by taxing farmers and were limited in size by the amount of surplus food that the rural population produced and by the ability to move this surplus from farm to city.
Over the past two centuries, the Industrial Revolution has broken this balance between the city and the country. 【5】 Today, instead of needing ninetyfive farmers to feed five city people, one American farmer is able to feed more than a hundred nonfarmers.
A.That kept cities very small.
B.The rest live in small towns.
C. The effects of urban living on people should be considered.
D. Soon many other industrial nations became urban societies.
E.But even 200 years ago, only a few people could live in cities.
F.Modernization drew people to the cities and made farmers more productive.
G.Modern cities have destroyed social relations and the health of human beings.
