With Halloween approached, Chengdu's officials issued statement online, banning terrifying costumes to avoid chaos. Do you think it was reasonably? In my opinion, even if one wants to celebrate Halloween, then he or she should go to the US. I love Halloween, and it doesn't mean I want China to adopt the tradition, and I wouldn't ask for so a thing. I don't know about the origin in Halloween, but to me, it was not important. What's priceless is not the knowledge of that Halloween came from, but the pleasure you have with your friends. Each country should have its own unique traditions. I'm sure Chinese people have got its own ways of having fun.

【题目】The Republic of Vanuatu is an island nation located in the South Pacific Ocean. It was one of the poorest nations in the region. Within the last five years, however, it has become a hot spot for adventure travelers. In 2006 it was voted the happiest place on Earth. The reason is not that Vanuatu are the richest but that Vanuatu has white-sand islands, clear waters, the world’s most accessible live volcano, great diving and food that grows faster than it can be picked.

With a population of about 221,000, Vanuatu has 113 languages, which is a result of 3,000 years of immigration from many Pacific countries. There are three official languages: English, French, and Bislama. Bislama developed from South Pacific English, a simplified language that traders and other foreigners used it to communicate with speakers of the many local languages.

Most of the islands are mountainous and of volcanic origin. There are several active volcanoes in Vanuatu, including Yasur on the island of Tanna, one of the world’s most accessible volcanoes. If you’ve ever fancied getting close to a volcano, here’s your chance.

Since Abbi Hickman was just a little girl, she has been surrounded by animals. Chickens, cats, dogs, rabbits, and sometimes goats are just some of the animals she cares for. At the age of 9, Abbi went to the Tracy Animal Shelter,in her hometown of Tracy,California,to adopt Sheldon, her favorite cat. There, she saw the poor conditions that the animals were kept in. Pins for Pets is Abbi's solution. For the last three years, she has organized a bowling tournament to raise funds for the Tracy Animal Shelter.
