There are many famous wonders and beautiful spots, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, Beihai Park and so on. Beijing is also the centre of politics, economy and culture of our country. Owing to the open-door policy, great changes have taken place since 1979.Many new houses and tall buildings can be seen everywhere. People's living condition is getting better and better. I love Beijing. I am proud to be a Beijinger. (B) School was over. All the students went back home, but Wu Bin had to stay. He was asked to remain because he didn't do his homework. He stood in Mrs Li's office, feeling quite ashamed. To his great surprise, Mrs Li didn't blame him for it. Instead, she just asked him what he wanted to be in the future. Wu Bin told her that he wanted to be a scientist. She patted him kindly on the shoulder, saying, “No man in the world can be successful without working hard.” He understood what she meant and said that he would work hard at his lessons and never waste his time.From then on, Wu Bin kept his word and he was doing better and better in his studies. |
