Dear friends,
It is real a good chance to have met all of you here. We have spent several precious weekends in English study in the English Club. Although we have been member for a short period of time, we have made a great progress. That is why we are all very active and the activities are not only enjoyable and also helpful. Besides, the foreign teachers here work hard and try his best to make the activities lively and interested. I am very pleased to say that all of us improved our spoken English greatly so far. Students today should do more reading. Indeed, the importance of reading can never be very stressed. First of all, reading, especial out-of-class reading, enrich our mind and broadens our horizons. Through reading, we learn what can’t be learnt in our classrooms. Beside, reading is also a way of relaxation. This is very refreshing to read a story before going to bed, or after a day of the study. There were many famous sayings about reading, like “Reading is to the mind that exercise is to the body”. Then how can we develop the habit of reading? In the first place, I believe we should start from an early age, then stick on it and never give up. I just come back from Britain last week. I was luckily enough to be one of the student from different countries to visit the UK from Feb. 16 to 28. We paid a visit to many places, like London, Oxford or the Lake District. I learned much about British culture and history in London, where was my favorite. I also liked Oxford, in which I saw much more old buildings. The Lake District was beautiful, but it was pity that it rained heavily when they were there. I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard my name calling. I was chosen to play the leading role in Cinderella, that was my dream. As a shy and thin girl, I used to be quite afraid of speaking in the public. But my parents and teachers always encourage me to do so. Now I have changed great.
