The pregnancy progressed       for Karen. In time, the labor pains came. Soon it was every five minutes ... every minute. But something serious        during delivery. Finally, Michael’s little sister was born. But she was in serious        . After two weeks in Intensive Care, it looked as if a funeral would come       the week was over. Michael, kept begging his parents to let him see his sister, “I want to sing to her,” he said. Kids were never          in Intensive Care. But Karen made up her mind to take Michael        they liked it or not. If he didn’t see his sister now, he may never see her alive.
She        him in an oversized suit and       him into ICU. He looked like a walking laundry basket, but the head nurse         him as a child, “Get that kid out of here now!” The mother rose up strong in Karen, and the usually         lady glared steel-eyed right into the head nurse’s face, saying in a         tone of voice, “He is not leaving until he sings to his sister!” Karen towed Michael to his sister’s bedside. He gazed at the tiny baby       the battle to live. And he began to sing.         the pure hearted voice of a 3-year-old, Michael sang:
“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are gray…”    the baby girl responded. The pulse rate began to         down and became steady.
“Keep on singing, Michael.” encouraged Karen. “You never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don’t take my sunshine away…”As Michael sang to his sister, the baby's breath became as smooth as a kitten’s purr.
“Keep on singing, Michael.” “The other night, dear, as I lay sleeping…” Michael’s little sister relaxed as rest, healing rest, seemed to sweep over her.
Funeral plans were        . The next day — the very next day — the little girl was well enough to go home!
The medical staff just called it a miracle. Karen called it a miracle of God’s love!

BIG things were happening in my life the summer after I turned 13. In the middle of that summer, my parents     my entire world when they told me they were getting divorced. I couldn’t believe that our family was going to     . Though I always knew my parents weren’t very happy and they often fought, I still wanted my family to stay       .
My life changed completely after the divorce. My mother and I moved into a small apartment       town, while my father and brother, Bill, stayed in our house. I now became a visitor       I went to see my Dad and Bill on the weekends. And immediately I had my stepfather, Dan,        I showed no interest in. I was clearly sad, especially after Dan and my mother married       I realized that there was no way that things could change       the way they were.
Even though I refuse all Dan’s trying to get to know me and wasn’t very nice to him, he never gave      on me. Gradually, I began to trust him. I realized that we actually had some things in common, especially when    came to movies and TV shows. We spent a lot of time together    out to watch movies. That gave us a chance to talk and get to know each other    .
Better still, Dan showed an interest in me that I had       experienced from my own father. Dan was always around when I needed       on school or friends. Once I began to         Dan, the three of us began spending a lot of time together. We often went out to eat and       short trips. Eventually, I discovered that I finally had the happy family that I had always      .
I now realize my parents were       about getting the divorce. Their breakup was the best thing to happen for all of us. My father also found happiness—he       and had another child, my half-sister, Michelle.
At 13, I       an important truth –change is not always the worst thing that can happen. Sometimes, it is just what we need most.

On the day of the final interview, my son and the      two candidates(候选人)arrived at the interview place on time,       the test. The interview was unbelievably     . The interviewer only said to them, “All of you are very super. Please go home and wait for our      . We will tell you the      in 3 days. In nightfall that day, my son suddenly told me       on phone, “Dad, I have been employed!” Greatly surprised, I could not wait to ask him, “What’s the whole      ?” My son told me that he received another text saying that he was employed. Actually the first text sent to my son was also       of the test in the interview. Three men received the same text this morning and only my son’s       was “Thank you” while the others said “Goodbye”.
Only then did I know that my son’s hope       in that way. That is, when you feel disappointed, do not       to say “Thank you” to the one who disappoints you. Saying “Thank you” shows respect for others’ work and shows your great      . Therefore, while under the same condition, you will get the upper hand in terms of       compared with others!

There is a small shop about 200 meters from where I live that sells meat and other basic necessities. About 10 years ago, there was a beggar who would go into the shop every day and ask the owner for a        . The owner,       he would love to help, simply didn't have any jobs available, so he kept       the man's request.
This situation continued         for a few months, until the owner         to give the homeless man a job which        sweeping outside the shop. Every single day from 5 am, the homeless man was there doing the very        he could for the        , and it did earn him some pennies.        , the owner saw how good a job the man was doing and gave him a job working        a cashier(出纳、收银员). He was watched closely to make sure that he didn't        any of the money received from the sales. He was still homeless,       . The homeless man did a/an        job as a cashier for over 2 years, and did such a good job that he was asked to         the finances(财政、金融) for the whole shop.
Two years later, the owner        . In his will, he only had one         , to give the whole shop to the "homeless" man. Now, I could walk into that shop and see him working as hard as      , with his own business that is still       and active 10 years after getting his job as a sweeper.
From this story, we can probably get the inspiration: work hard and give everything your best effort, even if it isn't your         situation, it very well may turn out to        some day in the future.
