They are people we aren't afraid of telling our secret wishes to or what is really on our minds.
Friends are our supporters. When you can depend on friends, you feel safe and warm.

【题目】 Corn has been a significant part in American food since before European arrival. After the Civil War, grits (粗玉米粉), which is made out of corn, became a diet mainstay (支柱) because water-powered mills (磨坊) worked to grind dried corn. They were relatively inexpensive and could be eaten with almost anything, making it possible for everyone to enjoy.
Grits are usually cooked with water, cream and butter over the course of many hours. There can be varying types of grits from smooth to grainy. There are even instant grits for those without the hours to cook. Worth noting is that sugar is not typically added.
Grits can be served for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but they're commonly used as a base, usually topped with seafood and a delicious sauce. It's a dish eaten by everyone from sitting presidents to blue collar workers in a variety of ways, both in fine dining restaurants and oily spoons.
Shrimp and grits is the most well-known dish incorporating grits, especially in coastal areas like Charleston, South Carolina. It was originally a fisherman’s breakfast, a hearty meal before a long day of work, and today, it's found on menus throughout the nation.
Chefs have also become creative with the dish, adding modern elements to the traditional. Mashama Bailey has a foie gras (鹅肝酱) and grits dish at The Grey in Savannah, Georgia. Edward Lee has prepared it like the porridge his Korean parents cooked during his growing up, but uses Kentucky's Wiesenberger grits. 【题目】 Archeology (考古学)isn't the dusty science it was a generation ago. New technologies that once seemed out of sci-fi are now locating buried traces of buildings and revealing the ruins of cities.
For more than a decade, Sarah Parcak and her team have been on the front line of this revolution. They use satellite images to find and explore ancient sites around the globe. Now they're about to take on a new challenge as they focus Global Xplorer citizen-science project on India.
In 2017, Parcak launched an online platform, called Global Xplorer, to crowd source (群众外包)the initial assessment of satellite images for signs of cultures from long ago. Anyone in the world with a computer and Internet access could help discover and protect remains of Peru's rich cultural heritage. The results have been surprising. About 80,000 participants from a hundred countries have identified 19,000 sites that were not in Peru's database. The platform for Peru is still running.
If all goes well, the work in India could last for years. "India has had relatively little archaeological work done," Parcak says. Also, the full extent of India's archaeological work has never been mapped completely. Parcak expects her project to make up that. “Wherever we end up going, the crowd's going to be able to see extraordinary things," Parcak says.
Thirty six India's cultural heritage relics are already listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Parcak thinks there could be tens of thousands of as yet unknown sites mapped as part of this project. The discoveries promise to be amazing across the land that has seen a parade of cultures come and go.
In the future, she hopes other countries will contact her to launch their own satellite surveys. The possibilities are huge. Parcak estimates that there are at least 12 million potential archaeological sites yet to be discovered. That means the sky is the limit for her project now that it has gotten off the ground successfully.
【1】What's the purpose of Parcak's project?
A.To interview citizens via the Internet.
B.To dig out more remains of ancient cities.
C.To build databases for unknown cultural heritage.

【2】What do we know about the participants in Peru project?
A.They are Internet-equipped volunteers.
B.They are well-trained voluntary scholars.
C.They are mostly fans of archeology in Peru.
D.They are all archaeologists all over the world.
【3】Why is Parcak's project important to India?

B.Indians call for the protection of their rich cultures.
C.There's no amazing archaeological discovery in India.
D.India needs more relics listed as World Heritage Sites.
【4】What does the underlined sentence "The possibilities are huge. " in Paragraph 6 mean?
A.Parcak's project will become successful.
B.Few countries will start satellite surveys.
C.There will be amazing discoveries in India.

【题目】Three simple keys to success
Being successful means different things to different people. 【1】 My point is, the specifics involved in finding success can vary greatly, depending on your goal.
There are three basic components necessary for finding success, regardless of the specifics of your pursuit. And, since the desire for ownership is the driving force behind acquisition, I’ll use the word OWN as my simple three-item method for success.
1.O-Opportunity: one of the most important components in finding success is being able to identify opportunity. It is to success what wind is to sailing. 【2】 Identifying opportunity is the first step; awareness sets your sails for success while your motivation provides the wind.
2.W-Wisdom: By definition, wisdom is the accurate application of knowledge. 【3】 It requires clear understanding, great insight and good judgment. Once opportunity is identified, you must use all your inner resources to seize it and make the most of it. 【4】 Finding success when opportunity presents itself often means reaching out for help in areas where you have weakness.
3.N-Never give up: This might possibly be the most important for success. The key is to first break your goal down into workable parts so you don’t feel pressured, and then to work each part at ease with both enthusiasm and purpose. It takes a lot of time, effort and determination to succeed. 【5】
A.Being successful demands doing well.
B.But wisdom involves more than just knowing.
C.You simply can’t have one without the other.
D.Having this attitude keeps you moving in face of trouble and becomes the driving force.
E.Besides, wisdom means knowing your limitations.
F.You’ll finally succeed if you follow these steps.
G.The road to success is being largely determined by what result you want to achieve.
