Making Friends
A person cannot live alone in society because there are many different kinds of work to do, which requires cooperation. Men¡¯s life depends upon each other in many ways.
Our society has become more and more complicated. No matter where we go, live and work, we cannot work or live without friends around us. Sometimes we might need their help. Of course, we will also lend them a hand whenever one is needed.
When you have many friends, you will find that they can not only give you the aid you need but also make you feel the pleasure of living. They may be your good teachers who teach you many things about life and the world. They may help you solve many problems. You may also enjoy going out with them and doing things with them. You will find life worth living

Insistence or Giving up
There is a battle in our daily life. Two forces are fighting with each other again and again. They never stop until you are buried in the earth. We called them insistence and giving up. They are like twins. One is angle, and the other is a demon..
As we all know, we want to pass the CET-4. So we get our own strategy. First of all, I am bound to master five thousand vocabularies. Second, I will write an article every week which is at least two hundred words. Then I will read at least two English articles, make more friends with foreigners for learning native English, and listening to some English news broadcast every day.
Nevertheless, according to my strategy, the first day, I should wake up at 6 a.m. to memorize at least twenty words. The alarm clock rings for me; I should get rid of my bed in order to study. Suddenly, ¡°Giving up¡± came and whispered to me. ¡°What about a five-minute prolong sleeping? How soft, comfortable this bed is! But Ms Insistence urged me, ¡°Don¡¯t listen to him; Come on, let¡¯s carry out our plan.¡± Her voice is sweet, but not what I need.
Time flies! If we can¡¯t seize every opportunity to appreciate time, Mr. Giving up will win all the time. Insistence of your plan, your dream may not be accomplished successfully, but giving up, you are sure to fail in life. (237w)

There is no doubt that watching television can influence the way that people behave. Moreover, it seems that people are spending more and more time watching some sort of visual entertainment, whether it is television, a video tape or a DVD. Therefore, the effects of visual media cannot be ignored.
One obvious effect of these media is that watching them induces people to buy certain products. Television advertising is widespread and, nowadays, even movie theaters permit advertisements. Another way TV and the movies affect people is that they give people either a    broader view of the world or a distorted one, depending on what type of program they watch.         Those who watch news and educational program can learn many new things while those who watch primarily entertainment shows may come to believe that most people in the world possess   great wealth and good looks. It may make them become dissatisfied with their own lives. Finally, perhaps the most susceptible viewers are children, who may be unable to tell fact from fiction and   may try to imitate acts that they see on TV or in the movies. And this is just what most parents and our society are worried about.
With the every-increasing popularity of video entertainment, we must pay attention to these effects.
