【题目】If you are going to have your China Tours, the first and biggest thing is to book airline tickets. You may think 【1】 getting round trip tickets on the website of airline companies such as China Flights. 【2】 a moment, there are many other ways to get 【3】 round trip tickets.

In our impression, round trip tickets would be cheaper than two 【4】 tickets. However, this may not be true. 【5】 , a round trip ticket may be even more expensive than two tickets. Normally, if you are traveling 【6】 , the price of the round trip tickets would be almost the 【7】 with that of two separate tickets. If you are traveling internationally, the airline companies usually give you a big 【8】 . For example, traveling from the U. S. to Beijing is about 900 dollars. But the round trip tickets are only about 1300 dollars or 【9】 less. So you can make a decision before you start to do the 【10】 .

One way to get cheap round trip tickets is to 【11】 the price between one way and round trip. Sometimes you may get more discounts for two one-way airline tickets. You should know 【12】 to compare.

【13】 way to get cheap round trip tickets is to get them from a 【14】 agency. Since the travel agency has corporate relations with a lot of airline companies, their price would be much lower because they 【15】 tickets for a lot of groups. o you can 【16】 a travel agency and tell them the day of your leaving and 【17】 . But the thing is actually that you are not going to travel with them. In this way, you just have to give the travel agency a small amount of 【18】 . So if the total price from the travel agency is lower than you 【19】 it directly from airline companies, then you can 【20】 to do it from the travel agency. 【题目】I don’t ever want to talk about being a woman scientist again. There was a time in my life when people asked constantly for stories about what it’s like to work in a field dominated by men. I was never very good at telling those stories because truthfully I never found them interesting. What I do find interesting is the origin of the universe, the shape of space-time and the nature of black holes.

At 19, when I began studying astrophysics, it did not bother me in the least to be the only woman in the classroom. But while earning my Ph.D. at MIT and then as a post-doctor doing space research, the issue started to bother me. My every achievement—jobs, research papers, awards—was viewed through the lens of gender (性别) politics. So were my failures. Sometimes, when I was pushed into an argument on left brain versus (相对于) right brain, or nature versus nurture (培育), I would instantly fight fiercely on my behalf and all womankind.

Then one day a few years ago, out of my mouth came a sentence that would eventually become my reply to any and all provocations(挑衅): I don’t talk about that anymore. It took me 10 years to get back the confidence I had at 19 and to realize that I didn’t want to deal with gender issues. Why should curing sexism be yet another terrible burden on every female scientist? After all, I don’t study sociology or political theory.

Today I research and teach at Barnard, a women’s college in New York City. Recently, someone asked me how many of the 45 students in my class were women. You cannot imagine my satisfaction at being able to answer, 45. I know some of my students worry how they will manage their scientific research and a desire for children. And I don’t dismiss those concerns. Still, I don’t tell them “war” stories. Instead, I have given them this: the visual of their physics professor heavily pregnant doing physics experiments. And in turn they have given me the image of 45 women driven by a love of science. And that’s a sight worth talking about.

【1】Why doesn’t the author want to talk about being a woman scientist again?

A. the very fact that she is a woman

B. her involvement in gender politics

C. her over-confidence as a female astrophysicist

D. the burden she bears in a male-dominated society

【3】What did the author constantly fight against while doing her Ph.D. and post-doctoral research?

A. Lack of confidence in succeeding in space science.

B. Unfair accusations from both inside and outside her circle.

C. People’s stereotyped attitude toward female scientists.

D. Widespread misconceptions about nature and nurtured.

【4】Why does the author feel great satisfaction when talking about her class?

A. Female students no longer have to bother about gender issues.

B. Her students’ performance has brought back her confidence.

C. Her female students can do just as well as male students.

【题目】People aren’t walking any more--- if they can figure out a way to avoid it.

I felt superior about this matter until the other day I took my car to mail a small parcel. The journey is a matter of 281 steps. But I used the car. And I wasn’t in any hurry, either, I had merely become one more victim of a national sickness: motorosis.

It is an illness to which I had thought myself immune, for I was bred in the tradition of going to places on my own two legs. At that time, we regarded 25 miles as good day’s walk and the ability to cover such a distance in ten hours as a sign of strength and skill. It did not occur to us that walking was a hardship. And the effect was lasting. When I was 45 years old I raced –and beat—a teenage football player the 168 steps up the Stature of Liberty.

Such enterprises today are regarded by many middle-aged persons as bad for the heart. But a well-known British physician, Sir Adolphe Abrhams, pointed out recently that hearts and bodies need proper exercise. A person who avoids exercise is more likely to have illnesses than one who exercises regularly. And walking is an ideal form of exercise--- the most familiar and natural of all. It was Henry Thoreau who showed mankind the richness of going on foot. The man walking can learn the trees, flower, insects, birds and animals, the significance of seasons, the very feel of himself as a living creature in a living world. He cannot learn in a car.

The car is a convenient means of transport, but we have made it our way of life. Many people don’t dare to approach Nature any more; to them the world they were born to enjoy is all threat. To them security is a steel river thundering on a concrete road. And much of their thinking takes place while waiting for the traffic light to turn green.

I say that the green of forests is the mind’s best light. And none but the man on foot can evaluate what is basic and everlasting.

【1】What was life like when the author was young?

A. people often walked 25 miles a day

B. People usually went around on foot.

C. People used to climb the Statue of Liberty.

D. people considered a ten-hour walk as a hardship.

【2】The author mentions Henry Thoreau to prove that ________.

A. middle-aged people like getting back to nature

B. people need regular exercise to keep fit

C. walking in nature helps enrich one’s mind

D. going on foot prevents heart disease

【3】What is compared to a steel river in Paragraph6?

A. A ray of traffic light B. A queue of cars

C. A flash of lightning D. A stream of people
