阅读下面的短文,然后按要求写一篇150字左右的英语短文。

A boy found an eagle’s egg and he put it in the nest of a hen. The eagle hatched and thought he was a chicken. He grew up doing what chickens do—scratching for food and flying short distances. It was a dull life. Gradually the eagle grew older and biller. One day he and his chicken friends saw a beautiful bird soaring on the currents of air, high above the mountains.

“Oh, I wish I could fly like that!” said the eagle. The chicken replied, “Don’t give it another thought. That’s the mighty(强大的) eagle, the king of all birds—you could never be like him!” And the eagle didn’t give it another thought. He went on cackling and complaining about life. He died thinking he was a chicken.

My friends, you too were born an eagle. The Creator intended you to be an eagle, so don't listen to the chickens!

We could all see the Murray Uiver slowly moving back, but now all the water was gone . I couldn’t believe that the Murray had dried up, not one drop of water left.

One morning I went down to the river to try and catch some fish when I saw my boat high and dry (搁浅) on the bank . I rushed down the river and saw all mud—no water . The fish were just lying there, dying . I looked up to see if my friend was there . There was the nest but no eagle(鹰). I called out to her with my special whistle which I made out of steel.

Suddenly a big shadow came over to me and the eagle landed in her nest and gave her young the food she was out getting while I whistled. But then I suddenly noticed she was getting thinner and had a bit of sheep’s wool in the side of her talon(利爪). It was deadly quiet by the river bank , except for some sound from my dog. And also I couldn’t see one native animal or bird.

When I walked inside the kitchen. Mum and Dad had sad looks on their faces. “It’s time for us to move ,Son, because the river can no longer provide for(养活)us,” said Dad . I ran out of the kitchen door with tears in my eyes , and down to the river bank, to my favorite spot. I said goodbye to my eagle , crying.

When it was time to go , I saw my eagle fly up into the air with her chicks in her talons , going away to try and find another home ,just like us.

第一节   短文概括(共1小题,满分5分)

One day, an American Indian found an eagle’s egg and put it into the nest of a chicken. The little eagle hatched with the chickens and grew up with them.

All its life, the eagle thought it was a chicken and did what the chickens did. It searched in the dirt for seeds and insects to eat. It could only fly no more than a few feet off the ground. After all, that’s how chickens were supposed to fly. The eagle never noticed that it was different from the chickens.

Years passed. And the eagle grew very old. One day, it saw a magnificent bird far above in the cloudless sky. It flew high and fast in the sky with its strong golden wings. Even the powerful winds could not stop it.

“What a beautiful bird!” said the eagle to its neighbor, “What is it?”

“That’s an eagle-the master of the birds,” the neighbor told the eagle.

“It’s extraordinary! I want to fly as high as it does,” said the eagle.

“Don’t give it a second thought. You are just a chicken. You could never be like it,” said the neighbor.

So the eagle never gave it a second and it died thinking it was a chicken.

Do you feel sympathetic towards the eagle? If so, give a second thought for who you are and who you want to be. Never let your life pass without realizing your full potential(潜力)and pursuing your dream.
