根据文章directions: As you approach Sussex Drive, you will see the Chateau Laurier hotel on your left-hand side. Make a left turn onto Sus-sex Drive and continue until you see the Gallery on your left-hand side, at the corner of St. Patrick and Sussex.

Closed Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and 2 January 2012 (Monday).可知A错误,圣诞节不开;根据◆ 1 May — 30 September Open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, Thursdays to 8 pm. ◆ 1 October — 30 April Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm; Thursdays until 8 pm. Closed Mondays.

根据文章Free admission Thursdays after 5 pm.

Directions:

From Highway 417, take the Metcalfe exit (出口). Follow Metcalfe Street around the Museum of Nature and continue to the north until you reach the end of the street at Wellington. You will see Parliament Hill. Turn right onto Wellington Street and continue in the left-hand road until you reach Sussex Drive. As you approach Sussex Drive, you will see the Chateau Laurier hotel on your left-hand side. Make a left turn onto Sus-sex Drive and continue until you see the Gallery on your left-hand side,内容可知the Metcalfe exit (出口)----- the Museum of Nature----- Parliament Hill---- Chateau Laurier hotel---Gallery,所以Chateau Laurier hotel离画廊最近。

Many athletes have been told that smiling while 1(sweat ) will make our efforts feel easier. A marathon runner smiled widely through the final miles of his fastest-ever marathon afterward, he said what he had hoped 2(be) that the smiling would ease him to the finish line But there has been little solid scientific evidence to support this idea. In recent years several past studies 3( examine)whether deliberately smiling can make changes to how people feel psychologically during races, 4few have looked at the physical effect 5 sports performance.

Researchers decided 6(gather) a group of experienced recreational runners and have them alternatively smile broadly as they ran. Many of the runners found it difficult to smile throughout the whole session, though. Their smiles became 7(increase) fixed and unnatural. Such false smiles make 8(few) facial muscles (肌肉)start working than the sincere version and most likely result in less 9(relax) and performance improvement. So the key to using a happy smile to make you 10better runner may be to smile sincerely and often near a race’s end, but in 30-second bursts, rather than constantly.

I was at a dinner in London given in honor of one of the most celebrated English military (军事的)men of his time. I do not want to tell you his real name and titles. I will just call him Lieutenant General Lord Arthur Scoresby.

I cannot describe my excitement when I saw this great and famous man. There he sat, the man himself, in person, all covered with medals. I could not take my eyes off him. He seemed to show the true mark of greatness. His fame had no effect on him. The hundreds of eyes watching him, the admiration of so many people, did not seem to make any difference to him.

Next to me sat a clergyman(牧师), who was an old friend of mine. He was not always a clergyman. During the first half of his life he was a teacher in the military school at Woolwich. There was a strange look in his eye as he turned to me and said in a low voice-"privately-he is a complete fool." He meant, of course, the hero of our dinner.

This came as a shock to me. I looked hard at my friend. I could not have been more surprised if he had said the same thing about Napoleon, or Socrates, or Solomon. But I was sure of two things about the clergyman. He always spoke the truth. And, his judgment of men was good. Therefore, I wanted to find out more about our hero as soon as I could.

Some days later I got a chance to talk with the clergyman, and he told me more.

1What did the author think about the clergyman's words?

A. Completely unbelievable.

B. Funny.

C. Probably true.

D. Foolish.

2What can we conclude from the passage?

A. The hero might not be a real hero.

B. The clergyman was the hero's best friend.

C. The hero was respected by all, including the clergyman.

D. The author strongly believed the hero was a great person.

3What will be talked about following the passage?

A. How the clergyman got to know the hero.

B. What really had happened to the hero.

C. The clergyman's past life.

D. The hero's struggle for success.
