¡¾´ð°¸¡¿Dear fellow students,

Our school is preparing to help students develop good habits. But there is a bad phenomenon in our school -----some students are spending too much money on snacks.

Eating snacks is a waste of money. It¡¯s also a bad habit that we should get rid of. In addition, most snacks have too much fat and sugar. They are unhealthy food. Eating snacks may lead to fatness and illness. To make matters worse, some students litter the food wrappers everywhere.

As high school students, we should act properly. Dear fellow students, let¡¯s form good eating habits and say no to snacks!

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿Long plane travel is rarely fun because of jet lag. Jet lag is body¡¯s inability to adjust to the new day-night cycle crossing different time zones. ¡¾1¡¿ I hope the following ideas could help.

¡¾2¡¿ If heading east, go to bed one hour earlier each night. If heading west, go to bed an hour later for a few days before the trip.

Split up the trip. Try to make a stopover, during which you can do some shopping in the airport. ¡¾3¡¿ It also reduces jet lag compared to a non-stop flight.

Wear two watches. One is set to current time. ¡¾4¡¿ It can help you prepare yourself for the comimg time change.

I can¡¯t guarantee all the suggestions above are definitely helpful to you. ¡¾5¡¿ So why not have a try?

A. But they are likely to work.

B. Are you trying hard to beat it?

C. Change body clock before you set off.

D. The other is set to the time of the destination.

E. It helps take the stress out of long distance travel.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿This is a perfect example ¡¾1¡¿ what a positive person Anne was. Unfortunately, due to the rising popularity of Adolf Hitler and his ideas of how the world should be, on the morning of June 6th, 1942, the Frank family was ¡¾2¡¿ (force) to go into hiding in a secret annex; Anne taking her few ¡¾3¡¿ (possess), one of them was a diary she had received for her thirteenth birthday. Over the next few years, she devoted herself to this diary, not ¡¾4¡¿(know) that, many years later, it would provide inspiration for people all over the world.

Why I have always looked up to Anne Frank is not only ¡¾5¡¿ she was an amazing author, which I have always wanted to be, but also because her writing ¡¾6¡¿ (true) reflected what a bright person she was. A particularly inspirational quote from her diary was£I don¡¯t think of all the misery, ¡¾7¡¿ of the beauty that still remains. ¡°This is all you really need¡¾8¡¿(hear) to know what kind of person she was. ¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿In the United States alone, over 100 million cell-phones are thrown away each year.Cell-phones are part of a growing mountain of electronic waste like computers and personal digital assistants. The electronic waste stream is increasing three times taster than traditional garbage as a whole.

Electronic devices contain valuable metals such as gold and silver.A Swiss study reported that while the weight of electronic goods represented by precious metals was relatively small in comparison to total waste, the concentration£¨º¬Á¿£©of gold and other precious metals was higher in So-called e-waste than in naturally occurring minerals.

Electronic wastes also contain many poisonous metals.Even when the machines are recycled and the harmful metals removed, the recycling process often is carried out in poor countries,in practically uncontrolled ways which allow many poisonous substances to escape into the environment.

Creating products out of raw materials creates much more waste material,up to 100 times more, than the material contained in the finished products.Consider again the cell-phone,and imagine the mines that produced those metals, the factories needed to make the box and packaging£¨°ü×°£©it came in.Many wastes produced in the producing process are harmful as well.

The U.S Environmental Protection Agency notes that most waste is dangerous in that"the production, distribution, and use of products-as well as management of the resulting waste-all result in greenhouse gas release." Individuals can reduce their contribution by creating less waste at the start-for instance, buying reusable products and recycling.

In many countries the concept of extended producer responsibility is being considered or has been put in place as an incentive£¨¶¯»ú£©for reducing waste. If producers are required to take back packaging they use to sell their products, would they reduce the packaging in the first place?

Governments' incentive to require producers to take responsibility for the packaging they produce is usually based on money. Why,they ask, should cities or towns be responsible for paying to deal with the bubble wrap£¨ÆøÅݵ棩that encased your television?

From the governments' point of view,a primary goal of laws requiring extended producer responsibility is to transfer both the costs and the physical responsibility of waste management from the government and tax-payers back to the producers.

¡¾1¡¿By mentioning the Swiss study, the author intends to tell us that .

A. the weight of e-goods is rather small B. natural minerals contain more precious metals

C. E-waste deserves to be made good use of D. the percentage of precious metals is heavy in e-waste

¡¾2¡¿The responsibility of c-waste treatment should be extended .

A. from producers to governments B. from governments to producers

C. from individuals to distributors D from distributors to governments

¡¾3¡¿What docs the passage mainly talk about?

A. The increase in e-waste. B. The creation of e-waste.

C. The seriousness of e-waste. D. The management of e-waste.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿Earthquakes are a kind of natural disaster. They usually come ¡¾1¡¿ warning. An earthquake is dangerous,¡¾2¡¿ there are still things you can do to protect ¡¾3¡¿.

Slay calm as the earth begins to shake. Your chances of ¡¾4¡¿ (survive) in an earthquake go up if you can keep calm.¡¾5¡¿ (stay) calm is not easy, but it can save your life.

If you are inside when the earthquake starts, get under ¡¾6¡¿ table or a bed. You need to have something ¡¾7¡¿ (strength) around you to protect you from ¡¾8¡¿ (fall) objects. Do not stand near walls or windows and stay out of the kitchen. The kitchen is dangerous because of many glass objects.

Remember to always hope for the best but prepare for the worst.
