As Blair became older he started to write professionally and then changed his pen name to George Orwell．One of his most famous books is called Nineteen Eighty Four and was published in 1949．This book was known for the social aspects，which were about oppression （压迫），poverty and crime．The book became popular in its time and was read by many people．
Although he was an experienced writer，his lifestyle was not healthy．Blair's lifestyle consisted of heavy smoking．He also continuously placed himself in situations where it was constantly cold and damp．It was said that he had a love for strong tea and also was known for wearing casual clothing most of the time．As the years went on，he soon became sick and died in 1950．To this day some of his works are still read by many people．
