As a senior three student, it won't take long after I graduate. Now, I have much to share
with my fellow student.
Firstly, I'd like to show my appreciation to those stand by me all the way, teachers, parents and friends including. Without their help or advice, my life will be different. Secondly, it's high time for I to say sorry to the classmates whom I hurt or misunderstood. I firm believe that
communication and smiles act as bridges to friendship. Thirdly, I've made my mind to make every effort to study, so hard work is the key to a success. Finally I want to express my hope which all the younger fellows can make full use of time, so time and tide wait for no man.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿Just getting accepted to an American college or university does not guarantee that you will get a visa. And getting a visa just lets you arrive in the United States. It does not guarantee that an immigration officer will permit you to enter the country.
If you are requesting a visa for the first time, you will probably have to go to an American embassy or consulate£¨Áìʹݣ©. You will need to bring a government form sent to you by your American school that shows you have been accepted.
You will also need banking and tax records that show you have enough money to pay for your education. And be prepared to provide evidence that you will return to your home country after your studies end.
All of this is important in satisfying the requirements to get a visa. A consular official will also take your picture and your fingerprints.
Foreign students must contact their local embassy or consulate to request an interview and to get other information. This includes directions about how and where to pay the visa application charge. The cost is two hundred dollars.
You should apply for the visa as soon as you have been accepted to a school in the United States. The government needs time to perform a background investigation.
You cannot receive a visa more than one hundred twenty days before the start of your program. And if you are coming as a student for the first time, you cannot enter the country more than thirty days before classes begin.
Once you come to the United States, you can stay for the length of your period of study. Your school is required to provide the Department of Homeland Security with reports on your status as a student.

Going to college is a new experience full of excitement of the unknown. Socialization is a big thing for college students and it is common to feel a little uncomfortable going into a situation where everyone is a stranger. You may probably miss your friends from high school.¡¾1¡¿ College is a great opportunity to make new lifelong friends. The question is: how?
¡øGet to know your roommate.
You may find you have lots of things in common with your roommate, but even if you are completely different from each other, with a little effort and understanding the two of you may become best friends.
¡ø¡¾2¡¿
If you leave your door open, this shows that you welcome visitors. As a result people will naturally stop in and say hello. Closed doors are not likely to bring many visitors and those who stay locked up in their rooms may give others the impression of being cold. Other students will be less likely to stop in and build a new friendship.
¡øJoin clubs or organizations.
Getting involved in organized societies is a great way to meet new people.¡¾3¡¿ By staying active in college groups such as clubs and organizations you can meet lots of people with whom you share common interests.
¡øTalk to classmates.
¡¾4¡¿ Starting conversations in class is a great opportunity to meet people who are interested in the same kind of studies as you are. Short friendly discussions can build lifelong friendships.
¡øTry out for a sport.
If you' re athletic, trying out for a sport will do for you the same thing that joining a club will do. ¡¾5¡¿
A. Close the door to keep away from theft. B. Hang a welcome sign on your dorm room. C. It also helps you get more familiar with the campus. D. Your roommate is the first person you will have close contact with. E. You will instantly meet a large group of people who share your interests in sports. F. Get to know your classmates as you'll be spending several months with them. G. Trying actively to find new friends can help ease the feelings of being lonely. |

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿New York ¡ª Wednesday, October fifteenth, is the first Global Hand Washing Day. Activities are planned in more than twenty countries to get millions of people in the developing world to wash their hands with soap.
Experts say people around the world wash their hands but very few use soap at so-called critical moments. These include after using the toilet, after cleaning a baby and before touching food.
Global Hand Washing Day is the idea of the Public-Private Partnership for Hand Washing with Soap. The goal, they say, is to create a culture of hand washing with soap. The organizers say all soaps are equally effective at removing disease-causing germs (²¡¾ú). They say the correct way to wash hands is to wet your hands with a small amount of water and cover them with soap. Rub it into all areas, including under the fingernails. Then, rinse well under running water. Finally, dry your hands with a clean cloth.
The Partnership says soap is important because it increases the time that people spend washing. Soap also helps to break up the dirt that holds most of the germs. And it usually leaves a pleasant smell, which increases the likelihood that people will wash again.
It also says washing with soap before eating and after using the toilet could save more lives than any medicine. It could help reduce cases of diarrhea (Á¡¼²), which is the second leading cause of child deaths, killing more than one and a half million children a year, by almost half.
¡¾1¡¿The Partnership creates
A. call on people to wash hands
B. help the developing countries
C. make a culture of hand washing in the third world
D. promote the importance of soap in hand washing
¡¾2¡¿The following facts can explain why soap is important EXCEPT that _____.
A. soap gets people into the habit of washing hands
B. soap helps to get rid of more germs off hands
C. soap attracts people to do more hand washing
D. soap gives people a longer hand washing time
¡¾3¡¿ According to the last paragraph, diarrhea is a disease that _____.
A. kills half of the kids in developing countries
B. can be prevented by washing hands with soap
C. causes the greatest number of child deaths
D. makes soap stand out in hand washing
