答案:B;D;C;A;B;D;D;C;A;B;C;B;D;B;C;B;C;A;D;A
解析:

1.A.event B.story                    C.adventure          D.description

答案 B

解析 从下文“Over the years, the story of the Yetis has ________.”和“These days, only

a few people continue to take the story of the Abominable Snowman ________.”

2.A.centuries                                B.too long

C.some time                                   D.many years

答案 D

解析 根据下文“Climbers in the 1920s reported...”及“In 1951,Eric Shipton took

photographs of...”

3.A.heard from                                    B.cared for

C.knew of                                    D.read about

的信;care for关心;照顾;喜欢;know of知道,听说(不一定

短文第二段中“...they said that they had ________

caught Yetis on two occasions(场合) ________ none has ever been produced as evidence.”

4.A.even                                       B.hardly

C.certainly                                     D.probably

答案 A

解析 上文“...they said that they had ________caught Yetis on two occasions(场合)”是当

5.A.as                                         B.though

C.when                                        D.until

答案 B

解析 主句中叙述了“they had even caught Yetis on two occasions(场合),从句none has

6.A.developed                                   B.changed

C.occurred(发生)                               D.continued

continued。

7.A.surely             B.naturally                 C.clearly                           D.simply

这与下文“the Abominable Snowman might really

8.A.found           B.told                           C.felt                             D.doubted

9.A.exist                      B.leave               C.disappear                     D.return

答案 A

were not simply the tracks of a monkey or a bear”可以判断出此空应填exist,即Shipton认

10.A.clearer                   B.more               C.possible                       D.fewer

答案 B

解析 根据该空所在段的首句“Further efforts have been made to find out about Yetis.”及

下文“Most believe the footprints are nothing more than ________ animal tracks...”

11.A.huge                     B.recent               C.ordinary                     D.frightening

答案 C

解析 由下文“________,in 1964,a Russian scientist said that the Abominable Snowman

was ________...”

12.A.strange                     B.large                  C.deep                        D.small

答案 B

解析 “...as they melted and(融化) refroze in the snow”清楚地阐述了人们发现的更多

13.A.In the end                 B.Therefore                C.After all                 D.However

14.A.imagined                  B.real                        C.special                    D.familiar

Most believe the footprints are nothing more than ordinary animal

15.A.so                           B.besides                     C.again                         D.instead

16.A.rightly                   B.really                      C.usually                   D.specially

17.A.lightly                       B.jokingly                 C.seriously                 D.hardly

18.A.succeed in                 B.manage to              C.depend on                 D.join in

答案 A

解析 succeed in doing做成某事;manage to do设法做到,后接不定式;depend on依靠;

join in参加。由该句的主句“...they may face a real ________:Would they put it in a

________ or give it a room in a hotel?”

19.A.decision                     B.situation                C.subject                     D.problem

答案 D

解析 短文末句“Would they put it in a zoo or give it a room in a hotel?”

20.A.zoo                             B.mountain               C.museum                    D.laboratory

答案 A

如果“雪人”划归人类,应该give it a room in a
