We eat for many different reasons but not always for the right reason. Most people choose food purely based on taste, and that's fine because food was meant for enjoyment. However, if we make food decisions based on taste alone, without regard to nutrition(营养)or healthy eating habits, then gaining weight is inevitable(不可避免的). Changing your eating habit demands considering the nutritional value as well as well as the amount of calorie and fat.

Healthy eating habit is formed by eating foods that are low in fat. Learn to read labels(标签)so you can make good decisions based on healthy eating habits. Every packaged food product has a label that will tell you the nutritional value, calorie and fat content.

As you gain experience reading labels, you won't be fooled by clever and deceptive marketing techniques used to get more of your money. Healthy eating habit comes by education. Foods that have the word“light”on the package can still have a high amount of fat and calories.“Fat-free”does not mean you can eat all you want just because it has no fat. Many fat-free foods are loaded with sugar and are high in calories.

Eating habit remain the same as we grow from childhood to adulthood. If you were raised on sugar and high fat foods, chances are good that you still eat the same today. Unfortunately, our metabolism(新陈代谢)is likely to slow down as we age and many adults get the “middle age spread”by their mid thirties. The amount of fat keeps building as we get older unless the cycle is broken by good eating habits or exercise, preferably both.

1 :less red meat and more fibre, less saturated fat(饱和脂肪)and more fruit and veg, right?Wrong, according to a controversial new book by nutritionist Zoe Harcombe. In the book, Harcombe charts her careful journey of research into studies that underpin(巩固)dietary advice-and her myth(误区)-breaking conclusions are surprising.

  Myth: 2

‘Real fat is not bad for us,’says Harcombe.‘It's man-made fats we should be demonising.’Why do we have this idea that meat is full of saturated fat?In a 100g pork chop, there is 2.3g of unsaturated fat and 1.5g of saturated fat.

  Myth:We should eat more fibre.

For three decades, we have eaten fibre into our bodies to help us feel full and keep our digestive systems moving. 3 , says Harcombe.

The advice to eat more fibre is put forward along with the theory that we need to clean our digestive systems. But essential minerals are absorbed from food while it is in the intestines(肠道), so why do we want to wash everything out?Concentrate on not putting bad foods in.

Myth:You need to eat five portions of fruit and veg a day.

‘Five-a-day is the most well-known piece of nutritional advice,’says Harcombe.‘You'd think it was based on firm evidence of health benefit. 4

‘Five-a-day started as a marketing campaign by 25 fruit and veg companies and the American National Cancer Institute in 1991.There was no evidence for any cancer benefit.’

Myth:Fruit and veg are the most nutritious things to eat.

Apparently not.Harcombe allows that vegetables are a great addition to the diet-if served in butter to deliver the fat-soluble(dissolved)vitamins they contain-but natural sugar, the fruit sugar in fruit, goes straight to the liver and is stored as fat.

5 , says Harcombe, who adds:‘Vitamins and minerals in animal foods-meat, fish, eggs and dairy products-beat those in fruit hands down.’

A.want to lose weight?Don't trust these.

B.We think we know what to eat.

C.This is not a good idea.

D.Fat is bad for us

E.Think again

F.We need take more exercise

G.Fruit is best avoided by those trying to lose weight

The Gunpowder Plot was conspiracy(阴谋)to kill King James I, as well as the members of the House of Lords and Commons at the re-opening of Parliament. It was designed by a group of Catholics in protest against the anti-Catholic laws that were being introduced by the king.

Robert Catesby was the leader of the group. It was he and his cousin, Thomas Wintour, and two other friends, Thomas Percy and John Wright, who formed the center of the group. They were joined by nine more men; among them was Guy Fawkes, from the city of York in the north of England.

Soldiers of the king surrounded Holbeach House, in the Midlands, where they knew the conspirators to be hiding. In the fight that followed, four of them were shot dead, including Catesby and Percy, who were actually killed by the same bullet. The others were imprisoned and hanged along with Guy Fawkes on 31st January 1606.

These days, on 5th November, children all over Britain celebrate Guy Fawkes Night by building huge bonfires and lighting fireworks. It's a family tradition and an occasion to eat potatoes baked by the flames. There is always a 'guy' on top of the fire, a model of Guy Fawkes, dressed in the clothes of the 17th century.

Four goals for Perfect Life

  Healthy and Fit

The first goal common to all of us is health and energy. 1 Today, with the incredible advances in medical science, the quality of our health and fitness, and our lifespan(寿命), is largely determined by design, not by chance.People with excellent health habits are far healthier, have more energy, and live longer and better than people who have poor health habits.

  Excellent Relationships

2 Fully 85% of your happiness will be determined by the quality of your relationships at each stage, and in each area, of your life. How well you get along with people, and how much they like, love and respect you, has more impact on the quality of your life than perhaps any other factor.

  Do What You Love

The third common goal is to do work that we enjoy, to do it well, and to be well paid for it. 3 You want to earn the very most that is possible for you at each stage of your career, whatever you do.

    4

The fourth goal we all have in common is to achieve financial independence. 5 You want to be completely free of financial worries. You want to be able to order dinner in a restaurant without using the price listings to determine what you want to eat.

A.We don't want to get the job that we aren't well paid and don't promote faster.

B.Achieve Financial Independence

C.Money is the most important for we can't go without it.

D.You want to reach the point in life where you have enough money so that you never have to worry about money again.

E.You want to be able to get and keep the job you want, to get paid more and promoted faster.

F.The second goal that we all have in common is to enjoy excellent relationships with the people we like and respect, and who like, love and respect us in turn.

G.We all want to be healthy and fit, to have high levels of energy and to live free of pain and illness.
