I’m writing to make an apology to you. We have decided to go on a trip to Beijing next weekend, but I’m sorry to tell you that I can’t go with you.

My mother was ill suddenly, which made my father and me very worried. Therefore, we took her to hospital as quickly as we can. The doctor checked her and said that she needed to stay at home and rest for a week. What’s more, my father will be away on business next week, so I have to look after my mother at home.
