8.What would you do if you failed?
Have you ever been asked about this question"What would you do if you failed?"Then,what's your answer?Many people may choose (61)to give(give) up.However,the wise way of achieving success is to keep your direction (62)and stick to your goal.On your way (63)to success,you must keep your direction.It is just like a lamp,guiding you in darkness and (64)helping(help) you overcome obstacles on your way.Otherwise,you will (65)easily(easy) get lost or hesitate to go ahead.
Direction (66)means(mean)objectives.You can go nowhere without an objective in life.
You can try to write your objective on paper and make some (67)plans (plan) to achieve it.(68)only  in this way will you know how to arrange (69)your(you) time and to spend your time properly.And you should also have a belief (70)that you are sure to succeed as long as you keep your direction all the time.

62 and      考查并列连词的用法    此处用于连接两个并列的谓语keep your direction(坚持你的方向) 和stick to your goal(坚持你的目标);故填并列连词and
63 to      考查固定短语的用法     固定短语on one's way to意为:在…

8.Through the wonders of modern technology, our world is more connected than ever before.Ideas can cross oceans with the click of a button.Companies can do business and compete with companies across the globe. And we can text, email,Skype with people on every continent.
So studying abroad isn't just a fun way to spend a semester; it is quickly becoming the key to success in our global economy.Because getting ahead in today's work places isn't just about getting good grades or test scores in school, which are important. It's also about having real experience with the world beyond your borders--experience with languages, cultures and societies very different from your own.Or,as the Chinese saying goes:"It is better to travel ten thousand miles than to read ten thousand books."
But let's be clear, studying abroad is about so much more than improving your own future. It's also about shaping the future of your countries and of the world we all share.Because when it comes to the defining challenges of our time--whether it's climate change or economic opportunity or the spread of nuclear weapons--these are shared challenges. And no one country can confront them alone. The only way forward is together.
