Ask any kid, and you'll likely hear that time spent with friends is the coolest and most important part of the school day. Educators, as well, acknowledge that making friends is one of the most valuable things children do as they learn and grow. But many parents are perplexed by their children¡¯s social lives, wondering how to help their kids cope with the challenges, heartbreaks, and the joys of making friends, losing them, and making friends again.

¡°Friendships help children gradually learn to be independent, contributing members of a community and it¡¯s just as important as their academic growth¡± notes Diane Levin, Ph.D., author of ¡°Remote Control Childhood.¡± However, it¡¯s a slow process. There are many social skills to learn, which advance with age and experience, trial and error, and experiencing the satisfaction that comes from contributing to an ongoing friendship.¡±

¡°Friendship starts as soon as children can crawl off their parents¡¯ laps over to another child,¡± adds Michael Thompson, Ph.D., co-author of her life with you to her life with her friends. but who their friends are, how they interact with them, and how popular they are, is something parents have only limited control over.¡±

Experts on children¡¯s behavior say that problems like jealousies, breakups, bullying and teasing account for a big part of what parents, kids and teachers talk about, and what parents worry about.

Get insights into how children¡¯s friendships develop and how parents can help, if needed, and find ways to determine if your child is at risk for serious social problems or simply suffering from real (but common) social challenges.

Many people think of guys as being carefree when it comes to their appearance. But in fact, a lot of guys spend plenty of time in front of the mirror. 1..

Body image is a person's opinions and feelings about his or her own body and physical appearance.  2. You appreciate your body for its capabilities and accept its imperfections.

So, what can you do to develop a positive body image? Here are some ideas£º

Recognize your strengths. Different body types are good for different things. Maybe your speed, strength makes you better than others at a certain sport. Maybe basketball, table tennis, or even running or perhaps non£sports skills, like drawing, singing, or acting. 3.

Exercise regularly. Exercise can help you look good and feel good about yourself. Good physiques (ÌåÐÎ) don't just happen. 4. A healthy habit can be as simple as exercising 20 minutes to one hour three days a week. Working out can also lift your spirits.

5. .Your body is just one part of who you are. Your talent for comedy, and all the other things make you unique. So try not to let small imperfections take over.

A£®Use this as an opportunity to discover what you're good at.

B£®Be yourself.

C£®They care just as much as girls do about their body image.

D£®Just explore talents that you feel good about.

E£®They take hard work, regular workouts, and a healthy diet.

F£®The good news is that self£image and body image can be changed.

G£®Having a positive body image means feeling satisfied with the way you look.

There is always something that happens in the world that everyone fears will happen to their town, city or country: natural disasters. The scariest part of it is that no one will ever see it coming. Though technology helps us prepare, but it never actually tells the people when it's going to hit. It is always estimated but the result is never 100% accurate.

However, that is not the point of this article. Two different natural disasters in two different parts of the world have happened in the past few weeks. One was a major flood that has hit Louisiana in the United States. The other was an earthquake that hit Amatrice, Italy. However, there is a major difference in the news coverage of the two tragedies.

As for the flooding in Louisiana, it is reported that this disaster is the worst to hit the United States since Super-storm Sandy and it'll cost at least $30 million. In only the first couple of weeks, 13 people had died. However, like me, many people did not hear about this tragic event. I did not learn about it until about three weeks after it happened.

In Italy, however, it covered all media instantly. The earthquake in Italy happened on Tuesday morning. That same day, I was on Twitter and that was all that was over the news feed. Every other post was about the earthquake. Some would have the opinion that Amatrice, Italy was one of the most beautiful towns in that country. I got in deep sorrow because there were more people killed in this quake than the flooding. So far, they have a total of 73 dead and over one hundred missing.

I understand that technically the earthquake in Italy was worse than the floods in Louisiana. However, I believe that if a natural disaster happens, they all should be equally covered and taken equally seriously. We are one world united and should be there for all of the people who are in need of help. We may not be able to accurately predict disasters but, we can surely lend a hand out for the needy.

1.What really concerns the author about the two natural disasters?

A. The death and the injured. B. The media report.

C. The government's responsibility. D. Their economic loss.

2.Why did the author learn about the flood so late?

A. He didn¡¯t care about the flood.

B. He felt nervous about the news.

C. The media didn¡¯t cover it in time.

D. The flood frightened the author a lot.

3.What can be inferred from the passage?

A. Italy isn't good at predicting the natural disasters.

B. All natural disasters should be covered equally.

C. The world should be united into one instantly.

D. America should help Italy predict natural disasters.

4.How is the text mainly developed?

A. By making a comparison. B. By following the time order.

C. By listing some examples. D. By analyzing the causes.
