【4】It
【5】being prevented
【6】normally
【7】located
【8】visitors
【9】where
【10】was written
故填a。
故填It。
故填being prevented。
分析句子结构可知,空处填非谓语动词做the Museum of Ice Cream的定语,the Museum of Ice Cream和locate是被动关系,故用过去分词作定语。
故填where。
故填was written。
In the pre-digital photography era, the message___10___ (write) like this, “This is what I'm seeing .I have seen.”
At the Museum of Ice Cream, currently ___7___ (locate) in the US city of Miami,___8___(visitor) can jump into a pool of plastic sprinkles (糖屑).

No longer in the pink
The world is going to have to start thinking thoroughly to save its coral reefs. Corals are comeback creatures. As the world froze and melted and sea levels rose and fell over 30,000 years, Australia's Great Barrier Reef, which is roughly the size of Italy, died and revived five times. But now, thanks to human activity, corals face the most complex mixture of conditions they have yet had to deal with.
According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a rise in global temperatures of 1.5°C relative to pre-industrial times could cause coral reefs to decline by 70-90%. When waters become unusually warm, corals throw out the algae, leaving reefs a ghostly white. This 'bleaching' is happening five times as often as it did in the 1970s.
Corals need protection from local sources of harm. Their ecosystems suffer from coastal currents, whether dirty water or waste from farms. Plastic and other rubbish block sunlight and spread aggressive bacteria. Governments need to carry out tighter rules on these industries, such as tougher local building codes, and to put more effort into strengthening rules against overfishing.
Many reefs that have been damaged could benefit from restoration. Coral's biodiversity offers hope, because the same coral will grow differently under different conditions. Corals of the western Pacific near Indonesia, for example, can survive higher temperatures than the same species in the eastern Pacific near Hawaii.
Stronger measures to fight against the larger threats corals face should also attract more research. Shading reefs using a polymer film as a sunscreen to cool them is under discussion for parts of the Great Barrier Reef. Other schemes to help corals involve genetic engineering, selective breeding and brightening the clouds in the sky above an area of the reef by spraying salt into the lowest ones, so that they turn away more of the sun's energy. These measures may sound extreme, but people need to get used to thinking big. Dealing with the problems caused by climate change will call for some far-reaching ideas.
【1】Thorough thinking is needed to save the coral reefs because __________.
A.corals have come back in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia
B.corals are frozen and melted five times over 30,000 years
C.corals are strong enough to survive human activity
D.human activity are threatening the condition of coral reefs
【2】The underlined word 'bleaching' most probably means _______.
A.warmingB.throwing out
C.whiteningD.dying
【3】Corals are being damaged by the following local sources EXCEPT ___________.
A.coastal water flowsB.more sunlight
C.waste from farmsD.bad bacteria
【4】Some extreme solutions to saving corals are mentioned in the passage in order to ______.
A.encourage people to come up with more ideas
B.introduce some advanced technological progress
C.raise people's awareness of protecting the environment
D.warn people of the threats and risks corals are facing

You may say that rain comes from clouds, but you can also say that rain is clouds.【1】, you should know the mechanism through which water moves from the Earth to the atmosphere and back again.
Dew point is the temperature at which water vapor begins to condense (凝结) and becomes water droplets that can fall as rain. Dew point can vary anywhere from the 30s (Fahrenheit) to, on rare occasions, the 80s.
【2】. Once the air has cooled past the “dew point", it condenses around a nucleus, which are usually tiny particles of dust, smoke or even salt that are floating in the air. Then tiny water droplets are formed.【3】. If you pay close attention to clouds in the sky, you'll see char they’re constantly shrinking and growing,
Water vapor that has formed clouds is on its way to becoming rain, bur it's not there yet. For now, the water droplets are 80 tiny that the air currents keep them in the air, just as swirling particles of dust can stay in the air.【4】.
When water droplets combine with one another, they become heavier than the uplift of the air around them. Eventually they fall down through the cloud as rain.【5】They attract more water vapor to themselves and grow quickly until they're heavy enough to fall as snow.
A.Rain cloud is formed when there is enough water in the air
B.As warm air rises with the water vapor it contains, it cools
C.If you are curious about what kind of cloud will become rain
D.Sometimes the droplets rise high enough to freeze into ice crystals.
E.The tiny water droplets that initially form are what you see as clouds
F.If you want a better understanding of why rain comes down from clouds
G.As those droplets continue to rise, they have two ways to come back to Earth

Living Jewels
Before I went to the British Koi Keepers Annual Show, I didn’t understand 【1】 people could take fish so seriously. However, the more I learned about koi, the more interested became. As one expert told me, "Collecting koi is far more addictive than you might think. They’re as beautiful as butterflies and very calming to watch." Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of Queen, would have agreed the pool in his specially-built Japanese garden was home to 89 koi,【2】 cost up to $10,000 each.
At the show I met koi enthusiast Jean Kelly. “Koi are getting more and more expensive,” she told me. “One recently sold for $250,000.” I was shocked that's almost as much as I paid for my house. Well, that was a record,【3】(admit) Jean. The normal price is nowhere near as high as that.
Nevertheless, serious collectors can pay up to $15,000 for a fully 【4】(grow) koi, which is nearly as expensive as a new luxurious car, and the bigger they are, the more they cost. The cheapest I 【5】 find was $75 each, but they were only about twice as big as my goldfish.
Jean wasn’t impressed by one of the koi on sale either. “Actually, these koi aren’t any nicer than 【6】,” she commented. “【7】 they are slightly bigger than the ones I’ve got, I paid considerable less than this.”
I wasn’t quite as enthusiastic as Jean, but I did consider【8】(buy) one. Then I remembered that all but 5 of Freddie Mercury's koi died when someone accidentally turned off the electricity supply to their pool. Jean assured me that with all the new equipment available the survival rate was getting better and better, and that looking 【9】koi was no harder than taking care of any other pet. However, in the end I decided to stick with my goldfish. They’re not nearly as beautiful as koi ——but they’re a great deal cheaper 【10】(replace) !

As technology in the security field advances, so does the intelligence of the burglars in prevailing over this technology. Gone are the days when a simple alarm system, connected to your phone line, was enough to protect you from potential security risks.
Cellular alarm systems (蜂窝报警系统)are a replacement of the traditional wired phone line security networks. These systems work just like your cell phone. A cellular module is placed in the main control panel and it sends signals, without the use of wires, to the monitoring station. The cellular signal is sent via the data part of a cellular signal, much like a text message.
Sensors can be placed anywhere in your house. Whenever there is an emergency, the relevant sensor picks up the unusual activity and sends a cellular signal to the main control panel. The control panel serves more than one purpose, which sends a cellular signal at the same time to the monitoring service at the back end. The monitoring service later informs the relevant authorities in the form of high-pitched sirens Typically it takes a few minutes for emergency services to arrive at the scene. Depending on the efficiency of your monitoring service and the local authorities, help should arrive soon and deal with the potential threats.
It allows you to monitor your house remotely. All you have to do is simply access the cameras from your phone and keep a check for any unusual activities while you are not around. With cellular technology securing your house, you don’t have to worry about the power failure or even burglars cutting your phone lines.
Since these systems operate on batteries, you should be careful about when the batteries die out. There might be other appliances including microwave ovens and WiFi in the house that can cause disruption (干扰). Ensure that your cellular alarm system's range is not affected by the presence of these appliances. Many homeowners tend to go for wireless systems due to the ease of installation (安装)factor. However, keep in mind that a non-professional installation might actually leave the system easy to damage.
