【题目】根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
The English language has many ways to talk about something that is funny. It is a basic human need. Physical humour, especially, can cross limits like nationality and language and bring people together from all different walks of life.
Humour comes in many forms. The most obvious and traditional way we use humour is in jokes. This is when a person changes a word or uses it in a different context(上下文) for comic effect.
Another way people can use humour is through telling a funny story. Perhaps something bad happened to the person but they can laugh about it now. People also invent funny stories in order to make people laugh. The advantage of this is that the characters aren't real.
Physical comedy usually divides opinions. For some, seeing someone fall down, whether it is planned or not, is one of the funniest things they can see. Some types of humour can also be harmful if someone is not in the mood for being made fun of!People's senses of humour vary across the world, so what may be funny in your country might be incredibly harmful in another!
The British, for instance, are famous for their humour in English. However, people learning a foreign language face much difficulty when it comes to being funny in a second language.
A. Humour is just one of the ways.
B. Everyone needs to laugh once in a while.
C. Other forms of humour are word play and puns(双关语).
D. Therefore, you don't have to feel bad for laughing at them!
E. People of all ages and cultures have a strong sense of humour.
F. Most people know how to use some form of humour in their native languages.

When other nine-year-old kids were playing games, she was working at a petrol station. When other teens were studying or going out, she struggled to find a place to sleep on the street. But she overcame these terrible setbacks to win a highly competitive scholarship and gain entry to Harvard University. And her amazing story has inspired a movie, “ Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story”, shown in late April.
Liz Murray,a 22-year-old American girl, has been writing a real-life story of willpower and determination. Liz grew up in the shadow of two drug-addicted parents. There was never enough food or warm clothes in the house. Liz was the only member who had a job. Her mother had AIDS and died when Liz was just 15 years old. The effect of that loss became a turning point in her life. Connecting the environment in which she had grown up with how her mother had died, she decided to do something about it.

【题目】阅读理解。
Last year I was put into a lowerlevel math class at school. The reason I was in this class had nothing to do with my intellect (智力) or maths skills. I am blind.
The only problem with being in this class was that I was surrounded by “atrisk” students. These were kids who did not do well in school and they were constantly in trouble with the school and the law.
One Tuesday morning, I went to a Christian Student Union meeting before school. There was a guest speaker there that day talking to us about praying (祈祷) for our enemies. I began to think about this. As I considered the idea, I prayed and asked God how I could pray for the kids in my class. I had forgotten that they weren't bad kids; they were just lost.
At first, the prayers were mechanical. When I would hear their voices in class, I would pray, “Dear God, please bless soandso...” But as I continued, I began to think of the kids more often, and in my quiet time at home I would ask God to bless (保佑) the rest of my classmates.
As time went on, my classmates became more than just annoying kids to me. There was something growing inside my heart for them, something that wasn't there before. They began to feel like family, and I was learning to love them in a way I never thought possible.
I now see that praying is such a powerful act. Prayer is the most powerful tool a Christian has. When I pray for those around me, it also blesses my life, and it changes my opinion of others. I realized I needed God's blessings to see the world through loving eyes. The prayers I said for others turned out to help me the most.
(1)What's the main idea of the passage?
A.Praying for your enemies.
B.The experience of the writer.
C.How to get along with the kids.
D.How to solve the problem about the “atrisk” students.
(2)What did the writer think about the kids at first?
A.They were lovely and friendly.
B.They were always asking for trouble.
C.They were as blind as the writer.
D.They were less reliable.
(3)What made the writer change his opinion about the kids?
A.The suggestion made by the teacher.
B.The experience with the bad kids.
C.The change with the time going by.
D.The idea about praying learning from a Christian Student Union meeting.
(4)What can we learn from the passage?
A.The kids in the writer's class are bad.
B.As time went on, the classmates became annoying.
C.After praying, the writer changed his opinion of his classmates immediately.
D.By praying for others, the writer learned a lot.

Many facts suggest that children are overweight (超重的) and the situation is getting worse, according to the doctors. I feel there are a number of reasons for this.
Some people blame the fact that we are surrounded by shops selling unhealthy, fatty foods, such as fried chicken and ice cream, at low prices. This has turned out a whole generation of grown-ups who seldom cook a meal for themselves. If there were fewer of these restaurants, then probably children would buy less take-away food.
There is another argument that blames parents for allowing their children to become overweight. I agree with this, because good eating habits begin early in life, long before children start to visit fast food shops. If children are given fried chicken and chocolate rather than healthy food, or are always allowed to choose what they eat, they will go for sweet and salty foods every time, and this will carry on throughout their lives.
There is a third reason for this situation. Children these days take very little exercise. They do not walk to school. When they get home, they sit in front of the television or their computers and play computer games. Not only is this an unhealthy pastime (消遣), it also gives them time to eat more unhealthy food. What they need is to go outside and play active games or sports.
The above are the main reasons for this problem, and therefore we have to encourage young people to be more active, as well as steering them away from fast food shops and bad eating habits.
(1)According to the text, what kind of children may eat more unhealthy food?
A.Those who often take exercise.
B.Those who often watch television.
C.Those who often have meals at home.
D.Those who often walk to school.
(2)What is one reason that children become overweight?
A.Children can' t choose what to eat.
B.Children are too busy to go out and play.
C.Children's parents often cook meals for them.
D.There are too many fast food shops around.
(3)What does the underlined word “steering” in the last sentence most probably mean?
A.Forcing.
B.Guiding.
C.Driving.
D.Moving.
(4)What' s the main purpose of the text?
A.To tell a story.
B.To provide facts.
C.To give advice.
D.To compare opinions.
