【题目】 Some people think going to the gym takes time and effort, it often hurts, and it can be extremely boring. Most weight-related exercises are a combination of sets and reps(几次几组).In order to see any significant change from any one exercise,it will probably need to be repeated six to eight times, for a minimum of three sets, for about three months: Then there' s aerobics(有氧运动).For some, there's nothing more boring than endless miles spent running on a treadmill(跑步机).

But what if there is a way to reduce the boredom of exercise while still getting a good workout? Luckily for us, there’s virtual reality (VR).

“In the past, playing video games was a sedentary(久坐不动的) experience:,"says Jo Stauffer of the VR Heaitn-institute, but VR changes all of that.” Many, VR games are played while standing In order to play properly, the players are forced to move around swinging their arms or using their legs. After an hour of this on a regular enough basis, it's not surprising, that many people unexpectedly find themselves a little fitter .There are already a number of virtual reality games which, deliberately or not, result in their player “getting a good sweat on” if played for enough time. For example, there's a music game which forces players to shadow box(做空拳攻防练习) in order to hit the notes---that's an upper-body workout.

The benefit of VR has been noticed by one company. They want to take the whole experience into the gym. They are making a resistance machine, designed to be used in combination with a VR headset. Players challenge a virtual competitor in a series of games, which results in a 30-minute full-body workout. However, the cost of the equipment is expensive and there are safety concerns to be worked out, says J.P.Gownder from the consultancy Forrester.

Although it's early days, for those: of us who struggle to overcome the boredom of exercise,a new solution could be coming. And a world where a person can exercise and have fun at the same time might be something that many people would want-virtual or not.So don' t give up exercising.

1What conclusion can we draw from the first paragraph?

A.Most weight-related exercises nearly have no effect.

B.Some people think exercising in the gym is difficult and tiring.

C.Running on a treadmill wont bring significant change.

D.You'd better not go to the gym because of the risk of injury.

2Compared with video games, VR games____________.

A.bring more fun to play.

B.take people less free time.

C.are more likely to bring players health benefits.

D.are more popular with people nowadays .

3What can we know about the resistance machine?

A.It has been widely used in the gym.

B.There are some disadvantages of it.

C.J.P. Gownder highly recommends it.

D.When using it, people need to have a partner.

4Which is the best title for the passage?

根据第一段“ Some people think going to the gym takes time and effort, it often hurts, and it can be extremely boring. Most weight-related exercises are a combination of sets and reps(几次几组).In order to see any significant change from any one exercise, it will probably need to be repeated six to eight times, for a minimum of three sets.for about three months.”

再根据第三段“ Many VR games are played while standing. In order to play properly, the players are forced to move around swinging their arms or using their legs. After an hour of this on a regular enough basis, it's not surprising that many people unexpectedly find themselves a little fitter.:”可知,很多虚拟现实游戏都是站着玩的。

根据倒数第二段“ However, the cost of the equipment is expensive and there are safety concerns to be worked out, says J.P.Gownder”可知,J,P.Gonder说设备的费用昂贵,且有一些安全问题有待解决。

故选A项。

【题目】 Hi, I’m Neil Harbisso. I come from a place where the sky is always grey, where flowers are always grey, and where television is still in black and white.

I actually come from a world where color doesn’t exist. I was born with achromatopsia. I was born completely color-blind. So I’ve never seen color, and don’t know what it looks like. But since the age of 21, I can hear color thanks to a magic electronic eye called “eyeborg”: a color sensor between my eyes connected to a chip(芯片) installed at the back of my head that transforms color frequencies into sound frequencies that I hear through my bone.

I’ve had the electronic eye permanently attached to my head and I’ve been listening to colors nonstop since 2004. So I find it completely normal now to hear colors all the time.

Since I started to hear color, my life has changed significantly. Art galleries have become concert halls. I can hear a Picasso. And supermarkets have become like night clubs. I love how they sound.

My sense of beauty has changed. Someone might look very beautiful but sound terrible, and someone might sound very harmonious but look awful. So I find it really exciting to create sound portraits(画像) of people. Instead of drawing the shape of someone’s face I write down the different notes I hear when I look at them, and then I send them an mp3 of their face. Each face sounds different. I can even give face concerts now, concerts where I play the audience’s faces. The good thing about doing this is that if the concert doesn’t sound good, it’s their fault.

I also found out that things I thought were colorless are not colorless at all. Cities are not grey. Lisbon is yellow turquoise(宝石绿); London is very golden red…and humans are not black and white. Human skins range from light shades of orange to very dark shades of orange. We are all orange.

If we extend our senses, we will consequently extend our knowledge.

1We can infer from the article that people with achromatopsia ____________.

A.suffer from blindness

B.have a good sense of colors

C.are not able to see colors

D.like to go to concert halls and supermarkets

2What does the author mean by saying “Art galleries have become concert halls”?

A.Art galleries have been changed into various sounds.

B.Works at the art galleries are created by great musicians.

C.Art galleries are filled with noisy people.

D.The author now likes art galleries as much as concert halls.

3Which of the following statements is NOT correct?

A.Neil developed a rare disease in his childhood.

B.The eyeborg produces sounds based on shades of colors.

C.Neil will use the eyeborg for the rest of his life.

D.In Neil’s mind, all people are orange.

4What is the best title for the passage?

A.Eyeborg – a real life saver.B.I listen to color.

C.Sense the world.D.Art galleries turned into concert halls.

【题目】(题文)Every human being has a unique arrangement of the skin on his fingers and this arrangement is unchangeable. Scientists and experts have proved the uniqueness of finger-prints and discovered that no exactly similar pattern is passed on from parents to children, though nobody knows why this is the case.

The ridge (脊状) structure on a person's fingers does not change with growth and is not affected by surface injuries. Burns, cuts and other damage to the outer part of the skin will be replaced in time by new one which bears a reproduction of the original pattern. It is only when the inner skin is injured that the arrangement will be destroyed. Some criminals make use of this fact to remove their own finger-prints but this is a dangerous and rare step to take.

Finger-prints can be made very easily with printer's ink. They can be recorded easily. With special methods, identification (识别)can be achieved successfully within a short time. Because of the simplicity and low cost of this system, finger-prints have often been used as a method of solving criminal case. A suspected man may deny a charge but this may be in vain. His finger-prints can prove who he is even if his appearance has been changed by age or accident.

When a suspect leaves finger-prints behind at the scene of a crime, they are difficult to detect with the naked eye. Special techniques are used to “print” them. Some of the marks found are incomplete but identification is possible if a print of a quarter of an inch square can be obtained.

I was very embarrassed that I burst into tear. She didn’t blame for me. Instead, she encouraged me with a smile, saying best way to face failure was to keep try and that no success could be achieved without failure.
