【题目】 The 1972 Hawaii episodes opened the fourth season of The Brady Bunch, and they have become a beloved part of pop culture. Here are the top places where the Hawaii episodes of The Brady Bunch were filmed.

Sheraton Waikiki

Location: 2255 Kalakaua Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii 96815

Halona Blowhole Lookout

Location: 8483 Highway 72, Honolulu, Hawaii 96825

Although there are no active volcanoes on Oahu now, their effects on the island linger. The best time to come here is when winds are strong and the tide is high.

View Rabbit Island from Makapu'u Beach Park

Location:41-095 Kalanianaole Highway, Makapu'u Point, Hawaii 96795

The Brady girls enjoyed the view of Rabbit Island. Although it's referred to by its nickname in the episodes, the real name of Rabbit Island is Manana Island. It got its nickname because many rabbits used to inhabit the area. It's now an uninhabited islet on the eastern end of Oahu.

Location: 2259 Kalakaua Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii 96815

It's believed that the Brady ladies enjoyed their hula lesson on the Ocean Lawn of the Royal Hawaiian, a luxury collection resort. The ocean Lawn is a great place for a selfie because you can see the ocean, Diamond Head and other beautiful sights in the background.

It’s been a long vacation. Last month, my aunt and uncle returned work, so they needed someone to look after their child. I offered to give them the hand. I had thought I was able to do that but things turned out so differently.

First, they fought from time to time but I couldn't stop from it. Then, the mess they made really annoys me. At lunchtime, I was busy preparing food while screaming to stop them beating each other. I wished I have not made that crazy offer. To her great relief, my grandma came that afternoon, which meant that finally I was able to go home—after cleaning up the garbage everywhere and collected the toys on the floor. How a busy day!

【题目】 Compulsory citywide garbage sorting began in Beijing in April, aided by new guidelines for residents and the start of a three-month inspection campaign to monitor enforcement. The strict garbage sorting rules require residents to classify their domestic trash into four different categories: kitchen waste, recyclables, hazardous waste and other waste. 1

Communities and villages across the capital must set up four different colored trash bins. 2 To help residents better classify their domestic trash, four supporting measures would specify the management standards and implementation procedures for classifying garbage. For example, a guideline released in April advised residents to have two trash bins and one garbage bag at home to make the separation of different kinds of waste more convenient.

3 The inspection, lasting until the end of July, will focus on mixed waste and its dumping and transport. Meanwhile, the city's market supervision authorities will begin a three-month crackdown on the illegal use and sale of plastic bags.

Under the newly revised domestic waste regulation, supermarkets, shopping malls and trade markets may no longer use super thin or free plastic bags. 4

By the end of March, there were 44 domestic waste treatment facilities in Beijing, capable of handling 32,711 metric tons of trash a day, the capital's urban management authorities said. The capital collected 10.11 million tons of household waste last year.

Some residential communities in Beijing have introduced incentives(激励)to encourage residents to sort their garbage. 5 Some communities had explored new ways of reusing kitchen waste as fertilizer for the residents' rooftop garden.

A.Law enforcement agencies will launch a three-month inspection to monitor compliance with compulsory trash sorting.

B.Those who fail to sort their garbage properly could face fines of up to 200 yuan $28.

C.The community acquired a trash treatment machine last year that can recycle some kitchen waste to produce organic soil in 24 hours as fertilizer for potted plants.

D.Restaurants and hotels must stop offering disposable items unless customers request them.

E.Residents can earn points by classifying their domestic waste correctly and then exchange the points they accumulate for daily necessities such as napkins and soap.

F.The treatment facility makes residents more familiar with the processing of garbage and spur their enthusiasm for trash sorting.

G.Green bins will be for kitchen waste, blue ones for recyclables, red for hazardous waste and gray for other waste.

【题目】 People often say that “failure is the mother of success”. 1 As a result, Manalo, a professor of educational psychology in Japan says, “We know we shouldn’t give up when we fail—but in reality, we do.”

Manalo and Manu, a professor of learning sciences in Swiss, put together a special issue (专利) last December on benefiting from failure. The issue’s 15 studies provide teachers and educational researchers with a guide for achieving success. 2 Another confirmed that advice on failures is most constructive when the receiver is prepared to experience unpleasant feelings.

Manalo and his co-authors also focused on overcoming one everyday form of failure: not completing a task. They asked 131 students to write an article about their school experiences. Half of the students received instructions for their writing, and half were left to their own. 3 Afterward the researchers found that those in the instructed group were more willing to complete their articles, compared with those who lacked guidance—even if the latter were closer to being done. 4

5 Stephanie Couch, the director of the Lemelson-MIT Program, holds the opinion. Couch, whose work was also featured in the special issue, says that we should tell them to think of failure as part of a process toward success.

A.However, all were stopped before finishing.

B.The saying shows the importance of success.

C.Teaching students not to fear failure makes goals achieved more easily.

D.One study reported that the sooner students fail, the sooner they can move forward.

E.Though having some truth to it, the saying does not tell us how to turn a loss into a win.

F.They believed that learning how to fail can help people avoid becoming lasting failures.

G.Knowing how to finish, in other words, was more important than being close to finishing.

【题目】 Americans have always been ambivalent in their attitudes toward education. On the one hand, free and universal public education was seen as necessary in a democracy, for how else would citizens learn how to govern themselves in a responsible way? On the other hand, America was always a country that offered financial opportunities for which education was not needed: on the road from rags to riches, schooling-beyond the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic-was an unnecessary detour.

Even today, it is still possible for people to achieve financial success without much education, but the number of situations in which this is possible is decreasing. In today's more complex world, the opportunities for financial success is closely related to the need for education, especially higher education.

Our society is rapidly becoming one whose chief product is information, and dealing with this information requires more and more specialized education. In other words, we grow up learning more and more about fewer and fewer subjects.

In the future, this trend is likely to continue. Tomorrow's world will be even more complex than today's world, and, to manage this complexity, even more specialized education will be needed.
