¡¾´ð°¸¡¿As a Chinese saying goes, ¡°Read a lot of books and travel a long way.¡± Chinese people have always had the desire to explore and travel. The first travel agency---China Travel Service was established in 1927, which marked the beginning of modern tourism in China. Since the early 1980s, Chinese tourism has witnessed a rapid development.
Nowadays, travelling has become one of the best-loved options of recreation. First of all, with the increasing income that financially guarantees the cost, a lot more people start travelling around, their footprints covering almost every corner of the world. Besides, thanks to the great advances in transportation, the journeys have become much more convenient and comfortable. In addition, travel agencies are providing all sorts of packages to satisfy various demands of the customers.
Looking into the future, people are more likely to enjoy eco-friendly travel and explore the unknown world, such as the underwater world and outer space. Another possibility might be virtual tourism. With VR, you can see, feel and touch the world without stepping out of your home.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿Work started this week on next season¡¯s flu vaccine (ÒßÃç), with experts working off forecasts about which types of the flu virus will be making the rounds. But don¡¯t expect any improvements. Flu experts are already admitting that most vaccines will give at best basic protection, because they¡¯re based on old-fashioned technology. It¡¯s not a new problem, but one that the slow-moving world of drug and vaccine production seems helpless to improve upon.
Every flu vaccine is a cocktail, aimed at either three or four of the most common flu types. Flu vaccines must be recreated every year because flu viruses develop constantly in a process called antigenic drift. In February, global flu experts gather to trade notes on what viruses are circulating in different countries and to come to an agreement on which types the next vaccines should be made to target.
In recent years, flu vaccines have been based on H1N1, H3N2 and either one or two types of influenza B virus. Each of these has a ¡°reference¡± type, which is used to make seed virus. Producers add the seed types to eggs and incubate (·õ) them as the virus grows. Then they purify the virus, and either weaken it or kill it to make a vaccine.
Using eggs is a tricky (=difficult) and unpredictable process. Sometimes the virus doesn¡¯t grow well in eggs, which can mean less vaccine than expected. The result is a flu vaccine that doesn¡¯t offer much protection. ¡°As long as we have eggs we are going to have this problem,¡± said Scott Hensley, a flu virus expert, ¡°The only solution is not to depend on eggs.¡±
Flu is a major killer. The 2017-2018 season has been a severe one, hitting the entire U. S. with widespread influenza infection (¸ÐȾ) at once for weeks on end, and killing 97 children so far. Against this threat, even a less satisfying flu vaccine will definitely help. ¡°Even when you have these mismatches it will not prevent infection but likely prevent disease severity,¡± said Hensley.
¡¾1¡¿Next season flu vaccine fails to improve because ______.
A. it has offered the best protection
B. experts can¡¯t forecast the flu types
C. it is based on outdated technology
D. experts are unwilling to respond to changes
¡¾2¡¿According to Paragraph 2, flu experts ______ in February.
A. exchange views on the virus types next season
B. get together and make a deal on vaccines
C. sign an agreement on vaccine production
D. decide on how to circulate the viruses
¡¾3¡¿The risk of using eggs to make vaccines may be that ______.
A. seeds are less likely to get protection
B. viruses might not be developed as expected
C. there are not enough eggs to be used
D. whether vaccines will grow is hard to predict
¡¾4¡¿What message does the underlined sentence convey?
A. The U. S. is faced with serious flu attacks.
B. Egg-based vaccines are better than nothing.
C. There is something wrong with flu vaccines.
D. Flu vaccines can stop the disease spreading.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿Directions: Read the following passage. Fill in each blank with a proper sentence given in the box. Each sentence can be used only once. Note that there are two more sentences than you need.
Are you still disappointed at your failure? Stop sighing, and change your mental model.
Change your view on ¡°success¡± and¡± failure¡±.
Most people have the following mental model: SUCCESS¡ªYOU¡ªFAILURE. ¡¾1¡¿but what if you change that model? YOU¡ªFAILURE¡ªSUCCESS. Instead of for viewing failure as something to be avoided, turn it into a ¡°steppingstone¡± on the path to success
Increase your failure rate.
If it is true that the more we fail ,the more we succeed then your immediate goal should be to intentionally increase your failure rate! ¡¾2¡¿Intentionally increasing failure means the more people tell you ¡°no¡±, the closer you will get to ultimate success.
Set ¡°No¡± goals.
¡¾3¡¿But how about setting goals for failure? The exciting aspect is how it keeps people ¡°in the game ¡±when they are ¡°red hot¡±. If all you have is ¡°yes¡± goals and then you slow down or quit when you are successful, the hot steak end .But if you keep going when you get the ¡°yeses¡± of life, the sky is the limit
¡¾4¡¿
If the key to success is to increase our failures, then it makes sense to celebrate our setbacks. Yes, you heard right: if someone turns you down, celebrate it! Instead of mentally punishing yourself for not succeeding, buy yourself ice cream and say ,¡±I am one step closer to success ! ¡±Stop letting failure have a negative impact on your thoughts and emotions.
A.See courage as a muscle
B.Celebrate your failures.
C.Everyone sets success goals
D.With this thought in mind, you are succeeding even when you fail
E.All the courage you need to achieve success is already in you ,just waiting for you to take action
F.They see themselves in the middle, and do everything they can to move toward success and away from failure

Yesterday my Chinese teacher asked me recite a poem today in class. I became very anxiously at once because I had never try a poem. Then I realise that if I practised hard, I could succeed. Therefore, I decided to do his best. After I got home, I stayed in my room, spend all my time reading the poem aloud. This morning when the Chinese teachers came in, my heart raced wildly but my face went red. Though I was quite afraid to stand before my classmates, I finally remembered that what to recite. Lucky, I made no mistake at all.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿Directions:Read the following passage. Summarize in no more than 60 words the main idea of the passage and how it is illustrated. Use your own words as far as possible.
According to an official report on youth violence.¡°In our country today, the greatest threat to the lives of children and adolescents is not disease or starvation or abandonment, but the terrible reality of violence.¡±Given that this is the case, why aren¡¯t students taught to manage conflict the way they are taught to solve math problems, drive cars, or stay physically fit?
First of all, students need to realize that conflict is unavoidable. It is reported that most violent incidents between students begin with a relatively minor insult. For example, a fight could start over the fact that one student eats a peanut butter sandwich each lunchtime. Laughter over the sandwich can lead to insults, which in turn can lead to violence.
If the conflict occurs, students can practice the golden rule of conflict resolution: stay calm.
Once the student feels calmer. Once the student feels calmer. He or she should choose words that will calm the other person down as well. Rude words and accusations only add fuel to the emotional fire while soft words can put out the fire before it explodes out of control.
After that, they can use another key strategy for conflict resolution. Listening allows the two sides to understand each other. One person should describe his or her side: and the other person should listen without interrupting. Afterwards, the listener can ask non-threatening questions to clarify the speaker¡¯s position. Then the two people should change roles.
Finally, students need to consider what they are hearing. An argument doesn¡¯t mean trying to figure out the fault of the other person but means understanding what the real issue is. As the issue becomes clearer, the conflict often simply becomes smaller.(280 words)

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿ Selena Gomez and I were scheduled to meet at a low-key coffee shop in Encino. Not wanting to keep the superstar waiting, I arrived at nine, 20 minutes early. As I was catching up on e-mails, Selena quietly scooted into the seat next to me. No bodyguard. Not even a drop of makeup. She was ten minutes early and so inconspicuous that no one else in the restaurant looked up so much. Selena was wearing Bebe shorts. She had a baby face and ordered a hot chocolate.
After making small talk about what she wore for the shoot, she dived into the subject of her career. Selena declared 2012 the year of movies. She filmed three: Spring Breakers, a drama; The Getaway, an action flick; and Hotel Transylvania, a comedy. Each is a marked move away from the teen style that made her a household name.
Now that her Disney days are behind her, Selena is at that unstable point in a child star's career where she is trying to grow up-both as a person (she turned 20 in July) and as an artist. ¡°Being part of the Disney Channel was a blessing, and I'm super happy with what my show accomplished, but acting is something I would like to take on more seriously.¡± She continued, ¡°I don't necessarily feel accomplished. I want to create a whole different persona when it comes to acting.¡±
Selena has been working full time since she was seven years old and scored a role on Barney & Friends. In 2007, when she was offered the lead in Wizards of Waverly Place, Selena, her mother, and her stepfather uprooted from Grand Prairie, Texas, to LA, where they are settling now.
¡¾1¡¿When did Selena arrive at the low-key coffee shop?
A.At 10:00.
B.At 9:10.
C.At 8:50.
D.At 9:30.
¡¾2¡¿The underlined word in the first paragraph probably means .
A.unconcerned
B.graceful
C.not easily seen
D.always thinking of others
¡¾3¡¿We can learn from Paragraph 2 that .
A.three famous films made in 2012 have shown her teen style
B.Selena went into her film career as soon as we met in the coffee shop
C.each of the three films marks Selena's move away from her teen style
D.the film Hotel Transylvania is an action flick made in 2012
¡¾4¡¿What did Selena think of Disney days which were behind her?
A.She thought of playing in Disney as an unstable point in her career.
B.She considered her being part of the Disney Channel a blessing.
C.She didn't feel very satisfied with her show in Disney.
D.She found herself not accomplished in her performance in Disney.
