Li Jiang: It's really exciting. I've always been interested in making kites. I want to enroll£¨±¨Ãû£©in the course.

Su Hua: I want to attend kite-making classes too. But I'm afraid the craft is too difficult for me.

Li Jiang: Don't worry about it.We can learn together.

Su Hua: There is another problem. My parents won't permit me to take part in such activities. They want me to spend more time on my subjects.

Li Jiang: By making kites we can be innovative, which is good for our study. I think they will support you.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿ An animated(¶¯») film Coco has made a dark horse in the Chinese film box office competition at the end of these recent two years. Since its first run on Nov 24, 2017 in China, the animation has taken in over 602 million yuan. Against the background of the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos, a day in memory of the dead, it centers on a 12-year-old boy named Miguel accidentally transported to the land of the dead, where he seeks his great-great-grandfather¡¯s help to be a great musician and also return him to his family.

Coco has scored 9. l of 10 points at Chinese movie review website Douban for its warm story, popular soundtrack and, most of all, meaningful theme. However, the film wasn't favored by Chinese moviegoers at first because of the poor translation of the film title.

It was called ¡°Xun Meng Huan You Ji¡±, meaning the journey to chase dreams in Chinese.¡± It's such an improper name. The film is more than a little boy's musical dreams¡ªit also explores the meaning of life and death." said a Sina Weibo user Gu Xudong. ¡°The awful translation almost made me miss such a great film. When I first noticed its name, I thought it another Forrest Gump.¡± said the Sina Weibo user Xiao Pihai.

Some locations featured in the animation have gained much attention on Chinese social media platforms like WeChat and Sina Weibo. And many people expressed their hopes to visit these scenic spots in the future. Meanwhile, the film's universal values that you should cherish your family and loved ones won much appreciation from the audiences. The boy's grandma Coco reminded me of my grandmother. I couldn't help but sob at the cinema." said the netizen Xu Lingling.

The meaning of life and death is an everlasting issue for humans. And it seems unlikely to be explored in animation, but more animated films are going in that direction. Coco tells us, ¡°Death is not a scary thing at all, but being forgotten by others should be.¡± ¡°The physical death is not the final destination. The moment when no living people remember who you are, then you have gone forever,¡± is one of the most impressive lyrics in the film.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿ It was a rainy day and I was walking down the street feeling comfortable and happy. I wanted to do something kind for someone else without any reason and purpose, almost as if I was just trying to spread the abundance (³ä×ã) of love I was receiving. It was then that I saw a teenage girl dressed in tattered clothes, getting soaked(ʪ͸). She wasn't wearing any shoes or socks. The rain wet her skin through the holes in her clothes and she was making her way through the garbage, trying to find something that would be of use to her.

I walked towards her and told her to wait for me there while I ran home to get her something. On getting home, I took off my shoes, which I really loved, wrapped them up in a plastic cover and ran to give them to the teenage girl on the street.

The girl looked surprised as if she was not used to this kind of kindness. She thanked me in a trembling (²ü¶¶µÄ) voice.

A famous musician who lives down the street corner stopped his car and smiled when he saw what happened. The two watchmen who saw me do this talked and gave me friendly looks.

Although I had to wear my dad's shoes, I was satisfied even if they were a bit large for my feet, because I knew the girl would walk comfortably wearing the shoes. That day I learned that letting go off the little things we own can be a big help to others.

¡¾1¡¿What does the underlined word 'tattered' in the first paragraph probably mean?

A.Old and torn.B.Large and new.

C.Colorless and small.D.Thick and old.

A.They were laughing at the author.B.They thought what the author did was right.

C.They also wanted to help the poor girl.D.They were curious about what the author did.

¡¾4¡¿What can we learn from the passage?

A.It is important to get others' praise.B.It is no use giving things to others.

C.It is a pity to lose favorite things.D.It is good to help others.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿ Many schools now serve breakfast as well as lunch. A lot of kids who take part can end up eating two breakfasts one at home and one at school. People are concerned that these kids may become overweight. In fact, Marlene Schwartz, a psychologist who studies the phenomenon (ÏÖÏó) of overweight, notes that¡¯s not what her data has shown in her new study.

Her group studied some 600 middle school students. Over three years, students in fifth, sixth and seventh grades were asked about their breakfast. Throughout the study bout 34 to 44 percent of all students said they regularly ate breakfast at home. Up to 17 percent or almost one in every six kids regularly ate breakfast at school. Overall, about one in every 10 kids reported having breakfast both at home and at school. And eating habits changed somewhat as the kids got older.

Surprisingly, at every age, kids who ate breakfast were less likely to be overweight. This was true even for those who ate breakfast at home and at school. Indeed, the study found no evidence of greater weight gain among students who ate double breakfasts. Rather, it found that students who skipped breakfast were those most likely to be overweight.

Skipping breakfast may set people to be over-hungry later in the day. Then someone may eat more food than their body needs. It might take the brain longer to realize ¡°you have enough food and can stop eating now¡±. If true, skipping breakfast may actually lead a person to consume too many calories (¿¨Â·Àï) over the rest of the day.

¡°Earlier studies have shown this to be the case. The total calories taken in 24 hours are less when you eat a good breakfast,¡± says Diana Cutts, who works at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. ¡°Eating healthily in the morning is really what you need to have energy. Skipping breakfast is not good for your body and brain.¡±

¡¾1¡¿Which is true according to Marlene Schwartz¡¯s study?

A.One in every ten kids had breakfast at school.

B.Eating habits didn¡¯t change as kids got older.

C.Kids having breakfast were more likely to be overweight.

D.Having double breakfasts doesn¡¯t mean gaining greater weight.

¡¾2¡¿What may cause overweight in children who skip breakfast?

A.The poor function of the body.

B.Eating too much later in the day.

C.Eating too much unhealthy food.

D.Lack of calory-burning exercise.

¡¾3¡¿What do Diana Cutts¡¯ words tell us?

A.The importance of energy.

B.The harm of calory intake.

C.The harm of light breakfast.

D.The importance of breakfast.

¡¾4¡¿What does the passage mainly talk about?

A.Causes of childhood overweight.

B.Ways to keep a healthy weight.

C.Skipping breakfast may lead to overweight.

D.Eating double breakfasts is healthier.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿ The 1972 Hawaii episodes opened the fourth season of The Brady Bunch, and they have become a beloved part of pop culture. Here are the top places where the Hawaii episodes of The Brady Bunch were filmed.

Sheraton Waikiki

Location: 2255 Kalakaua Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii 96815

The entrance to the Sheraton Waikiki has not changed all that much. All of its original charm remains. You can even book an ocean-view room like the Brady family would have enjoyed. Be sure to also check out the breathtaking infinity pool.

Halona Blowhole Lookout

Location: 8483 Highway 72, Honolulu, Hawaii 96825

During their tour of Hawaii, the Bradys looked in the wonder at the still-active Halona Blowhole. It's one of Hawaii's many natural wonders. The rock formation and blowhole shoots ocean water spray high into the air when the waves roll in.

Although there are no active volcanoes on Oahu now, their effects on the island linger. The best time to come here is when winds are strong and the tide is high.

View Rabbit Island from Makapu'u Beach Park

Location:41-095 Kalanianaole Highway, Makapu'u Point, Hawaii 96795

The Brady girls enjoyed the view of Rabbit Island. Although it's referred to by its nickname in the episodes, the real name of Rabbit Island is Manana Island. It got its nickname because many rabbits used to inhabit the area. It's now an uninhabited islet on the eastern end of Oahu.

Hula dancing on the Ocean Lawn of the Royal Hawaiian

Location: 2259 Kalakaua Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii 96815

It's believed that the Brady ladies enjoyed their hula lesson on the Ocean Lawn of the Royal Hawaiian, a luxury collection resort. The ocean Lawn is a great place for a selfie because you can see the ocean, Diamond Head and other beautiful sights in the background.

The Royal Hawaiian does offer hula lessons to guests, but they aren't held on the Ocean Lawn. If you and your family decide to try hula dancing, try not to get your hula skirts mixed up like Alice and Cindy did!

¡¾1¡¿Where should you go to enjoy the ocean waves?

A.Sheraton Waikiki.B.Halona Blowhole Lookout.

C.Rabbit Island.D.Ocean Lawn.

¡¾2¡¿What is special about the Rabbit Island?

A.It has active volcanoes.

B.It has incredible sunrise.

C.It got the name because of rabbits.

D.It has remained the same ever since.

¡¾3¡¿What can you do on the Ocean Lawn?
