    A man requested on a wise man to help his son quit his bad habits. The wise man took the boy for walk in a garden. Suddenly he stopped to ask the boy to pull out a tiny plant there. The boy hold the plant between his thumb and forefingers and pulled it out. The man then asked him to pull out another plant what was a little big. The boy pulled hardly and the plant came out. “Now pull out that one,” said the man point to a bush. The boy tried his best but couldn’t pull it out. “So it is the same with bad habits” said the wise man. “When you are weak, it is easy to pull them out, though when they become strong, they can’t be rooted.”

    【解析】1.考查动词。动词request（要求）是及物动词，可以直接接宾语，故将on去掉.

    2.考查冠词。固定词组：for a walk（去散步），故加a.

    9.考查代词。此处是人称用错，是指那些植物，故将you改为they.

    10.考查连词。前后两句是并列句，用表示转折的but连接，故将though改为but.

    Bike-share systems are found around the world in cities like London, Paris, Barcelona, and Melbourne, Australia. The largest program with 70,000 bikes--is in Wuhan, China.

    To make roads friendlier to non-motorists, the U. S. Department of Transportation has invested more than a billion dollars in cycling and pedestrian projects in recent years. The money went toward building thousands of miles of on-street bike lanes and pedestrian-only passages called greenways.

    Being responsible is actually not that difficult. I used to think it is hard to grow up into a responsible member of the society. An incident happening in a rainy Sunday afternoon changed my attitude. I was on my way to the bookstore and was waiting for the green light while a girl was knocked down by passing car, which drove off quickly. A man immediately gave her first aid and I had joined in without hesitation. Soon many help was given to the girl. Because we sent her to the nearest hospitals in time, she was able to receive properly treatment. Not badly injured, I expressed gratitude to those giving help. Compared with the escaping driver, I was proud of what I did.

    It is interested to look at differences between schools in different countries. In many European countries which the relationship between teachers and students is quite formal, discipline and respect for the teacher is considered as very important. In northern European countries, however, the relationship between teachers and students are more relaxed and much friendly. In America, for example, the relationships are quite formal and the same is true of Britain. Other important difference is whether schools are state schools and private schools. State schools are paid by the government while in private schools, the education of the children is paid for by his parents.
