    15．One of the greatest influences from books I've read this year came from the book Anne of Green Gables．Anne's turning ordinary things into extraordinary things caught my eye．She is clever，fun-loving，creative，determined and occasionally a little bit absent-minded．All of these qualities remind me and help me realize that a little bit of romance，or imagination should always be a part of all of us，and can brighten up many unpleasant days．

    Anne taught me how important it was to be forgiving because you never know when it will be too late to forgive．She also showed me that being able to forgive makes a big difference in your relationships with people．
    Above all，the most important thing that Anne taught me was the fact that just by being herself she was very liked by the others at school．This made me realize how important it is to be yourself．Lots of adults have told me that before but it is hard because sometimes I just want to be popular，but Anne brought the message through．

    While many colleges，and particularly public universities，don't allow students to defer enrollment，Florida State University has begun encouraging its freshmen to take a year off from their studies in order to get some extra maturity and new experiences．
    "We know very clearly now that gap years can be an educational experience that changes you completely，"said Joe O'Shea，president of the board of the American Gap Association．"They show an increase in determination．Gap years help increase students'focus while their identities and future plans take shape．"
