Economics is a way of understanding human behavior and of solving problems that characteristically involve scarcity. Economics is important because it provides a method to help make clear a wide range of problems affecting human welfare. To most of us, school means classes, teachers, schedules, grades and tests. But for the children at Sudbury Valley School in Massachusetts, school is very different.
