When you’ve seen a couple fighting or having a pity argument, what is the first thing that comes into your mind?Probably you think that you will never allow arguments to set in your relationship, especially when you get married,or will never think to start one,but arguments seem to come naturally.
You argue about the brand of coffee,or what to eat at lunch, who will do the dishes, etc.Sometimes, more than that, but regardless of your reasons for the argument(or fight),fixing a troubled relationship and having a solution is very important.
Our partners are our most valuable fortunes.Companions provide a listening ear for our troubles, support for our dreams, and a safety net when we fall. They give us love, even when we are unlovable. They are and must be our friends.
Inevitably, though, sometimes we go through troubled periods and a solution should be sought through the following steps:
Address the situation.Admit to your partner that something is wrong and needs to be fixed.
Determine the problem.Together, discuss what problems we are facing.Be honest and let your honesty be in its proper place.Remember, you are talking to your partner, another half of yourself.
Apologize. We accept responsibility for our actions and seek forgiveness.
Refuse to blame. In addition,we must avoid defending ourselves. There could be a temptation to argue over who did what;however, the goal is not proving who is right but saving the relationship.
Begin repairs.Ask,“What can I do to rebuild our relationship?” The key here is to do willingly whatever is requested.
Commit to rebuilding.Immediately start investing your time, energy, and love in restoring the relationship. In order to have a good relationship with a partner who accepts and loves us,we must be willing to pay the high price of patching up the broken relationship.Walking away might seem easier, but in the long run,we would lose a valuable treasure.

A.our partners are our most valuable treasures
B.it’s sensible to ignore the heated argument for a while
C.proving who is to blame has nothing to do with the solution
D.it takes time, energy, and love to rebuild the broken relationship
4.The purpose of the text is to .

Archaeologists(考古学家) studying Stonehenge and its surrounding area say they've dug up the relics of an untouched, ancient campsite that dates back to 6,000 years—a find that could rewrite British prehistory.
“This is the most important discovery at Stonehenge in over 60 years,” Professor Tim Darvill, a Bournemouth University archaeologist and a Stonehenge expert who did not take part in the new discovery, told the Telegraph. And as he told The Huffington Post in an email, the discovery changes earlier theories that Stonehenge was built in a landscape that was not heavily used before about 3000 B.C.
The discovery was made during a dig at Blick Mead, a site about 1.5 miles from Stonehenge. Researchers found charcoal(木炭)dating back to 4,000 B.C. and evidence of possible buildings, according to a statement released by the university. They also dug up burnt stone and tools, as well as the remains of animals—ancient cattle that served as food for ancient hunter-gatherers.
The researchers plan further analysis on the artificial objects but say they're worried the tunnel construction (隧道建设) could damage the site and get in the way of their work.
“Blick Mead could explain what archaeologists have been searching for centuries—an answer to the story of Stonehenge’s past,” David Jacques, the University of Buckingham archaeologist who discovered the campsite, told The Guardian. “But our only chance to find out about the earliest part of Britain’s history could be ruined if the tunnel goes ahead.”
Stonehenge, a prehistoric monument made up of a ring of standing stones, lies eight miles north of Salisbury, England in Wiltshire. It has been listed as a World Heritage Site since 1986.

2.We can learn from the passage that _______.
A. the researchers express their concern that the relics might be ruined
B. the ancient campsite has been destroyed by the construction workers
C. archaeologists are repairing artificial objects founded in the relic site
D. the tunnel construction rewrites the earliest part of Britain’s history
3.In which section of a newspaper can we read this passage?
A. Travel. B. Business. C. Lifestyle. D. Culture.

What is a dream?
For centuries, people have wondered about the strange places that they seem to visit in their sleep. 1.However,they have been valued as necessary to a person’s health and happiness.
Historically people thought dreams contained messages from God.It was only in the twentieth century that people started to study dreams scientifically, believing that they tell about a person’s character. 2.He believed that dreams allow a person to express fantasies or fears, which would be socially unacceptable in real life.
The second theory to become popular was Carl Jung’s compensation theory.Jung,a former student of Freud, said that the purpose of a dream is not to hide something, but to communicate it to the dreamer. 3.Thus,people who think too highly of themselves may dream about falling;those who think too little of themselves dream of being heroes.
Using more recent research,William Domhoff from the University of California found that dreaming is a mental skill that needs time to develop in humans. 4.Until they reach age five, they cannot express very well what their dreams are about.Once people become adults, there is little or no change in their dreams. The dreams of men and women are different. For instance, the characters that appear in the dreams of men are often other men,and often involve physical aggression.
The meaning of dreams continues to be difficult to understand. 5.If you dream that a loved one is going to die,do not panic. The dream may have meaning, but it does not mean that your loved one is going to die.
A.It gives scientists chances to better understand human mind.
B.However, people should not take their dreams as reality.
C.Children do not dream as much as adults.
D.Dreams make up for what is lacking in waking life.

阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。
Energy goes from one plant or animal to another.A food chain shows how this energy moves. Each time an animal gets eaten, its energy is passed onto the animal that eats it.The food chain is very important because it keeps the balance of nature. If one part of the food chain disappears,it can affect all the other plants and animals.Any threat to the food chain is a threat to the environment’s biodiversity(生物多样性).The food chain helps keep animal populations in balance. However,if something happens to damage one of the links in the food chain, that balance is broken. If one animal becomes endangered,it puts all the animals above it at risk.
Some of the threats are natural, such as wildfires, hurricanes, tornados, floods and so on.But the biggest threats to the food chain come from you and me.These threats include overfishing, logging, farming, development, pollution, etc. The food chain is endangered anywhere humans have had an effect on the natural environment.
A recent study shows that the overfishing of large sharks is damaging the food chain along the US Atlantic coast.Canadian and American scientists say sharks are being killed in great numbers for their meat and fins(鳍).Now,not enough sharks are around to eat the cownose ray.The ray’s population has increased and they have eaten up the shellfish to the point where it has hurt commercial(商业的) fishing.
Many of us disturb the natural environment in our own backyards. It’s up to us to take care of the environment and try not to disrupt the natural food chain. If we don’t act responsibly, animals will start disappearing.
1.What can we learn from Paragraph 1?
A.The food chain is not easy to be broken.
B.The energy of an animal usually disappears when it dies.
C.Increasing the links will not break the balance of nature.
D.Breaking the food chain is bad for the biodiversity of the environment.
2.The study mentioned in Paragraph 3 proves that .
A.human activities can be a big threat to the food chain
B.we are all responsible for the breaking of the food chain
C.natural disasters are hard to break the food chain
D.hunting large sharks for meat is beneficial
3.We can infer that the writer wrote this passage mainly to .
A.explain what the food chain is
B.tell us something interesting about nature
C.suggest that we stop eating meat to save animals
D.suggest that we should not disrupt the natural food chain
