【题目】根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。How to improve your happiness
Recent research has shown that people who value their time over the pursuit of wealth are happier. So how can you best make, save and use your time — and ensure you keep a smile on your face?
● Pay someone to do the housework you hate
Why waste precious hours on housework or gardening if you can get someone else to do it?
● Set time limits on tasks you can't avoid
Give yourself 20 minutes for necessary cleaning or 10 to hang out the washing.
● Enjoy standing in that queue
With three people in front of you at the checkout, think about how busy you usually are and see the wait as a gift, not a bore(烦人的事情).
● Take on one new activity at a time
At work and at home, be careful about the duties you take on. If you already feel stressed at work, don't do more at home.
● Learn to say no
Be firm by declining a new project, or telling someone you can't talk right now or that you can only talk for a couple of minutes.
● Make lists your friend
Start a wish list of the things you'd like to do and do more of the items that simply make you feel happy. Keep your daily to-do list manageable by putting it on an index card.
A. Be friendly but firm.
B. Make sure you start with an easy task.
C. This will get boring jobs out of the way faster.
D. Intending to do several things at once can be tiring.
E. Think about things that interest you, or wait patiently.
F. Trying to master too many new things at once can be unpleasing.
G. Recall things you're grateful for, talk to another customer or read a magazine.

【答案】C;G;F;A;B
【解析】本文介绍了几个提高幸福感的方式。
(1)逻辑推理,本段标题是“对不可避免的任务设定时间”,所以目的是为了更快把不喜欢的工作如cleaning和washing做完,故选C。
(2)关键词联系。根据前文提到的With three people in front of you at the checkout结账时前面有三个人,对应于G选项中的customer(顾客),故选G。
(3)反义词对比。本段标题中的one new activity at a time(一次一个新的活动),与F中的too many things形成对比,故选F。
(4)原词再现。根据本段前文中的be firm by declining……要坚决的谢绝,对应A项中的friendly和firm,故选A.
(5)前后呼应。本段前文中的说要“列出你想要做的让你感到快乐的事情,把每天可做的事情写在卡片上”,与“务必从简单的任务开始”在逻辑上是呼应的,故选B。

【题目】阅读理解
English is an excellent language to learn, whether it's for business, travel or personal reasons. Here are some important ways to improve your spoken English.
When you have time to speak, just try your best to practice. Don't wait until you “feel more comfortable” speaking in English, so start speaking English today. You'll be surprised at how quickly your language skills improve. Find a native English speaker who is willing to spend some time speaking English with you—you may be able to offer them a language exchange, where they spend 30 minutes speaking English with you and you spend 30 minutes speaking your native language with them.
Even if you have a good knowledge of the grammar and vocabulary, native English speakers may find it's very difficult to understand if you don't work on your pronunciation. Correct , clear pronunciation is necessary if you really want to improve your English. Listen closely to how native English speakers pronounce certain words and sounds and do your best to copy them.
The wider your vocabulary and the more English phrases you learn, the easier speaking English will become. Once you have learned a new word or phrase, you should make an effort to use it in a sentence—this is the best way to keep it in mind. You should also start a notebook of phrases that English speakers use all the time.
Another great way to add some more English conversation into your weekly practice is to sign up for a class of discussion group. Attending an English class is a great way to pay attention to some of the more formal aspects of speaking English. A class will teach you the correct way of speaking. Attending a discussion group is a more informal and relaxed way of learning English, where the emphasis(重点) is more on communication and relationship building than on speaking “correct” English.
(1)What is the best title of the text?
A.Ways of improving your spoken English
B.English is an excellent language to learn
C.English is useful for business and travels
D.How to learn English grammar clearly
(2)The writer suggested people start practicing when________.
A.they feel comfortable
B.they meet the surprising thing
C.they have any time
D.they improve their language skills
(3)What is the best way to improve the pronunciation?
A.Just remember the grammar.
B.Make sure how words are read and copy them.
C.Try the best to remember the spelling of the words.
D.Speak English when you “feel more comfortable”.
(4)We can learn from the passage that_________.
A.it's not necessary to find a native English speaker with whom you can practice speaking English
B.native English speakers can understand you easily if you have a good knowledge of grammar and vocabulary
C.An English party is a good place where you can learn the correct way of speaking
D.Using a new word or phrase in a sentence is the best way to memorize it

Have you ever wondered what an American high school is really like?
A typical American high school has several large buildings and enough space for about 1,500 students. When students first arrive at school, they go straight to their lockers to put away or get their textbooks and to hang up their outdoor clothes. As American textbooks are expensive, students would rather rent than buy them.
American students have different types of school transport. They usually take a yellow school bus or walk to school if they live close enough. When they turn 16 years of age, most take a free driving class at school for one term. If students earn passing grades in the class and also pass their state driver's exam, they can begin driving themselves to school.
They must take science, math, English and social studies. They can choose art, homemaking, fashion design and other classes. In some schools students are required to take one or more of the following special classes: health education, physical education or foreign language studies. Students move to different classrooms for each subject. This is because each teacher has their own classroom. There is a five-minute break between classes, to give the students the time to hurry to their next class.
The regular school day usually ends early in the afternoon. After school more than half of the students are involved in after-school activities. These activities include sports-especially football, basketball, baseball and soccer or clubs, such as yearbook, speech, school newspaper, photograph or student government.
A. Every student is given a locker.
B. Each day, students take six or seven classes.
C. Sometimes their parents drive them to school.
D. Students must pay back if they lost any of them.
E. This is because each teacher has their own classroom.
F. The regular school day usually ends early in the afternoon.
G. This article will describe a typical American high school and its students.
