    Everyone of us are thinking about the future. I have decided to become a middle school teacher. Does it sounds surprising?

    I have had this dream when I was a child. I love children. I don't think to deal with them all years round is just wasting time. On contrary, to me it means happiness. Like we all can see, teachers are badly needed in our country, and not many of us want to become teachers. One of the main reasons of this is that teachers work too hard but get too little.     Personally, I think honesty education is basic necessity. First of all, course on honesty should be offered to students, and activities like story-telling and lectures are also worth tried. With the concept of “being honest” deep rooted in their minds, honesty can be reflected in our daily life and study. However, related rules and regulations should be applied for evaluate students in aspects such as homework, tests, and relationships with teachers and parents. Last but not least, we’d like strict measures carrying out to punish those that cheat constantly. As a result, they must take responsibility for their bad behaviors, thus reducing chances of cheating the next time.

    Quickly, she and I developed something very similar to a Vulcan mind meld(心灵相通). She’d look at me with those sad brown eyes of hers, send her need, and then wait, trusting I would understand—which, strangely, I almost always did. In no time, she would extend across my stomach as I watched television, and snored on my home-office couch as I worked on my design.

    Even so, part of me continued to reject walking duty, Joe and Becky had promised. “Not fair”, I said to myself as she and I walked. “Not fair,” I’d loudly remind anyone within earshot upon our return home.

    In September, 2008, the Great Depression hit the Arizona. With that, my husband and I were both laid off overnight. During the following six months, Joe and I hurriedly rushed here and there to seek a new job, doing anything and everything we could to request employment. Every part of my life changed; no part of my old routine remained. However, Misty still needed walking.

    Scientists in the US found cancers are caused by random mistakes in the genetic code that occur when cells divide. The findings challenge the widespread view that cancer mutations are generally inherited or caused by environmental factors.

    Lead scientist Dr. Cristian Tomasetti, from Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center in the US, said, “It is well-known that we must avoid environmental factors such as smoking to decrease our risk of getting cancer. But it is not as well-known that each time a normal cell divides and copies its DNA to produce two new cells, it makes various mistakes.”

    The research, published in the journal Science, indicates that almost two-thirds of cancer-causing mutations are due to DNA copying errors. Overall, 66% of cancer mutations resulted from copying errors, 29% from lifestyle or environmental factors, and just 5% from inherited faulty genes. The discovery helps explains why cancer often strikes people who follow all the rules of healthy living and have no family history of the disease. Cancers caused by copying errors could occur no matter how perfect the environment is.

    Professor Mel Greaves, director of the Centre for Evolution and Cancer at the Institute of Cancer Research in London, said, “Even if, as this study suggests, most individual cancer mutations are due to random chance, the researchers admit that the cancers they cause may still be preventable.”

    “We have good evidence to show that cancer is caused by a complex mix of environmental exposures, inherited risk, and random chance. And while the genes we inherit from our parents are unchanged and many chance events are unavoidable, fortunately for us, exposures are major contributors to our risk of cancer and offer a route to risk reduction or prevention.”
