My ears are recently full of joyous remarks from my friends such as, “oh, Beckham is so handsome, so cool, that I can’t help falling in love with him!” Or “what perfect skills he has!” Yeah, I agree some degree, though I sometimes do want to ask them how much they Beckham, apart from his appearance and how much they know about football scoring goals. It seems funny that we are crazy for things, with which we are unfamiliar or we are uncertain, but we all, my friends I, consider this .

We need these pleasures to brighten up our lives. But that doesn’t amount to craziness nonsense(胡闹). As an old saying : “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” We should not anything from its appearance. We should all know, it is one’s good character and great contribution that one a star and unforgettable. Therefore we’d better say about Beckham’s good looks.

If we close our eyes, in deep thought, we can find that the things us to be in truth happy, sad or moved a clear meaning. If we don’t go deeper and just satisfied with superficial(表面的)things, we will find that we have not really gained anything our first impression has blinded and misled us, and we’ll remain ignorant(愚昧无知的) we realize that and make some changes.

It is believed that thinking and going deeper than before is sign of great . If one day we are willing to go deeper into everything, no matter how much it us, we will finally prove how much we have grown up, how much more sensible (明智的), mature, and intelligent we have .

2.2】D考查动词短语及语境的理解A. learn from向某人学习; B. learn学习; C. know知道,认识; D. know about了解。根据下文and how much they know about football 可知这里用的是know about;从后面的how much看,作者是在"质问"对方对贝克汉姆和足球究竟知道多少。故选D

3.3】A考查短语及语境的理解A. apart from 除了;B. except for除了C. except 除。。 apart from his appearance有些人喜欢贝克汉姆仅仅是因为他的外貌。

A. not不; B. as well as和,表并列; C. rather than而不是; D. but但是。

7.7】B考查连词及语境的理解A. nor 也不; B. or 或者;C. and 并且;D. or else否则;否定句中用or连接。

A. take 拿走; B. judge判断; C. accept 接受; D. conclude推断。judge…by… 或judge… from…“根据……

A. makes sb sb使某人成为某人; B. causes促使; C. builds建造; D. creates创造。 故选A

11.1】C考查形容词及语境的理解 A. more更多的; B. much多;C. less更少;D. worse 更坏;从上下文意义上判断,“在外貌上要少说”。

故选A

A. lack缺乏; B. have有; C. include包括; D. cover覆盖。

A. in fact事实上; B. indeed的确; C. in a while一会儿; D. sooner 迟早。

16.6】A考查连词及语境的理解A. because 因为;B. even though即使;C. so 因此; D. although虽然;从句子的连接上分析有“因果”关系,故选A项。

A. even if即使; B. although尽管; C. unless 除非; D. if如果。

A. joy高兴; B. progress 进步; C. effort努力; D. work工作。

A. cares关心; B. pains费心; C. worries担忧; D. minds思想。

[1] When children go to camp, they are on their own, sometimes for the very first time in their lives. They have to decide what to wear, what to eat and which activities to participate in. As a result, they develop confidence and independence.

[2] As self-respect develops from learning to be on their own, children continue to try new activities. Also it is possible that they will engage in what they are unfamiliar with. In school, children do not experience success in the same way. Camp can be a school without failure because just having fun makes them a success.

[3] One of the greatest benefits of a camp experience is that children develop social skills. In a camp setting, a good counselor will make sure that every camper is included in the activity and that each child interacts with the others in a positive way. They learn to give and take, and they learn how to work and cooperate. Something as simple as clean-up, is not only there to get the cabin clean, but to promote a team atmosphere of working together which in turn results in friendship.

[4] The obvious benefit of camp is that campers make long lasting friendships. These friendships can often be unique and special because campers are living with each other and see the true personalities. Children learn to see others from a different viewpoint. Children tend to be accepted for who they are and do not have to be concerned about what they wear, what they are good at and how they look. This is because in a camp setting, respect and caring finally win out over materialistic objectives.

[5] In a word, camp does give children fun, friends and fulfillment.

The English test will be removed from China’s college entrance exam by 2020, according to the Ministry of Education. The national college entrance exam, known as the “Gaokao” has been used to evaluate Chinese students for three decades. The Ministry of Education has worked out a plan for reforming exams and enrollment. Tests will be held several times a year to allow students to choose when and how often they sit the exam so as to reduce study pressure and change China’s once-in-a-lifetime exam system.

The decision has aroused a heated discussion among Shanghai educators and parents who doubted whether the reform would reduce the burden of learning English or if the substitute test could reflect a student’s English skills and help students learn English better.

“As far as I see, the reform doesn’t mean English is no longer important for Chinese students after it is excluded from the unified college entrance exam,” Yu said. “In a way, English is even more important than before since the test would only serve as reference, while every college and university, even every major, can have different requirements of a student’s English skills under a diverse evaluation system.”

Yu said some students will have their study pressure reduced if the major they choose doesn’t need excellent English while others still need to study hard if they want to be among the best students.

The education ministry said the reform would not affect students attending the college entrance exam over the next three years.

A. the new exam and admission system will make no difference

B. English shouldn’t be removed from China’s college entrance exam

C. the reform may accomplish the very opposite

3.What does the passage try to express in the underlined sentence?

It's really true what people say about English politeness: it's everywhere. When squeezing past someone in a narrow passage, people say "sorry". When getting off a bus, English passengers say "thank you" rather than the driver. In Germany, people would never dream of doing these things. After all, squeezing past others is sometimes unavoidable, and the bus driver is only doing his job. I used to think the same way, without questioning it, until I started traveling to the British Isles, and here are some more polite ways of interacting (交往) with people in UK.

People thank each other everywhere in England, all the time. When people buy something in a shop, customers and retail assistants in most cases thank each other twice or more. In Germany, it would be exceptional(例外的)to hear more than one thank you in such a conversation. British students thank their lecturers when leaving the room. English employers thank their employees for doing their jobs, as opposite to Germans, who would normally think that paying their workers money is already enough.

Another thing I observed during my stay was that English people rarely criticize others. Even when I was working and mistakes were pointed out to me, my employers emphasized several times but none of their explanations were intended as criticism. It has been my impression that by avoiding criticism, English people are making an effort to make others feel comfortable. This also is showed in other ways. British men still open doors for women, and British men are more likely to treat women to a meal than German men. However, I do need to point out here that this applies to English men a bit more than it would to Scottish men! Yes, the latter are a bit tightfisted.

1.What is the author's attitude towards English politeness?

A. He thinks it is artificial.

B. He appreciates it very much.

C. He thinks little of it.

D. He thinks it goes too far.

2.What can be inferred from the passage?

A. The author think it's unnecessary to say “thank you” to the bus driver.

B. In Germany, employers often say “thank you” to employees for their job.

C. Germans think it is unnecessary to thank workers because payment is enough.

D. German men never treat a woman to dinner.

3.Which of the following statements is true according to the passage?

A. English people try to avoid criticizing others in the daily life.

B. In Germany, passengers sometimes say “thank you” to bus drivers.

C. English drivers often say “thank you” to passengers when they get off the bus.

D. Germans are more considerate and polite than Englishmen.

4.The author develops the text through the method of .

A. giving comments

B. telling stories

C. making comparisons

D. giving reasons/examples
