【题目】阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中选出最佳选项。
Electronic book publishing has many of the same risks and opportunities as electronic music publishing. By delivering text direct to the user’s computer screen, the e-book could cut down costs, and allow creators to deal directly with their audience, bypassing (绕过) traditional publishers and readers. But it also raises the possibility of mass piracy (盗版). Phil Rance, founder and managing director of Online Originals, a London-based e-book publisher, sums it up. “No one wants Napster (在线音乐服务) to happen to books.”
Indeed, the most popular MP3 have put the frighteners on (威胁) an industry that generally operates some way behind the “bleeding edge”. The Mata Group, a leading US-based market researcher, says publishers are far too concerned about protecting their rights, “We believe all the recent legal control over Napster is like putting a finger in a river that is already overflowing. Publishers need to deal with reality and come up with new ways to develop wide electronic distribution (分布), asking the question: ‘How can we use the certainty of wide distribution to our advantage?’”
At the moment, most publishers would like to limit the use of e-books to the person who bought them, or to the computer used to download them. If that can be done, e-books become just an extra income stream in a publishing industry that would continue to operate the way it does today, according to Terry Robinson, business manager for Adobe’s e-paper group. “If you’ve cracked digital rights aspect, you’ve cracked the market,” he says.
Robert Nichols, Books Director at BOL agrees, “Rights management is absolutely important. Publishers just say that ‘until copyright is secure, we’re not going to talk’.”

A. Changes Brought by E-books

It would have been a success story if Fullerton High School senior Fernando Rojas, the son of Mexican immigrants whose schooling stopped in the eighth grade, was accepted to college. But the 17-year-o1d achieved a surprising clean sweep—he was accepted to every Ivy League school.
“I didn’t think I could get into any,” Rojas told The Orange County Register on Saturday. “When I got all eight, it was a blessing and a curse because I had to choose. I was excited and scared and everything at the same time.”

Sal Tinajero, Rojas’speech and debate coach at Fullerton, told the newspaper that Rojas is a hardworking self-starter who thrives (茁壮成长) on competition. “His biggest motivation for speech and debate was his parents to know that their hard work meant something,” Tinajero said.
After visiting several campuses, he settled on Yale, which costs $64, 000 a year with room and

【题目】Most people think that the capital of the movie world is Hollywood, in the United States. However, the real movie capital is Mumbai, in India. Mumbai used to be known as Bombay, and so the film industry(产业)there is called “Bollywood”. Each year, Bollywood makes twice as many movies as Hollywood.
The movies from Bollywood are very different from Hollywood movies. For one thing, Bollywood movies are longer than most Hollywood movies. Most Bollywood movies are more than three hours long, and contain singing, dancing, adventure, mystery and romance. Because Bollywood films has so many different characters, this style of film is called a “masala” film. Masala is an Indian word for a mixture(混合) of spices(调味品).
Another big difference is the way the movies are made. It takes longer to make a movie in Hollywood than in Bollywood. In fact, filming may begin on a Bollywood movie before the script(剧本) is finished. The director and writers can make up the story while the filming is being made. Sometimes they even write the script by hand instead of typing it.
Bollywood actors are so popular that some of them may even work on several movies at the same time. They may even make several different films on the same day using the same costumes(戏装) and scenery. Since most Bollywood movies follow the same kind of story, shooting scenes for several films at the same time is not a big problem for actors or directors. This also helps to keep the cost(成本) of Bollywood movies lower than the cost of Hollywood movies.
