Most drinks stating that they are fruit-flavored (水果味道的) contain no fruit at all, while most of the rest contain only a small quantity of fruit, according to a study carried by the British Food Commission.
“Shoppers need to check the labels (标签)before buying drinks, though sometimes the actual content can be non-existent,” said Food Commission spokesperson Ian Tokelove. “Food production is highly competitive. 1 It will increase profits, and consumers won’t always realize they are being tricked.”
Flavorings are focused on the flavors of natural food products such as fruits, meats and vegetables, or creating flavor for food products that do not have the desired flavors. Researchers analyzed the contents of 28 strawberry-flavored products sold in stores. 2 Of the 11 products that did contain strawberries, five of them contained less than one percent real fruit. In addition, each juice box contained nearly eight teaspoons of sugar.
3 Let’s take jam as an example. Some strawberry-flavored jam was labeled as containing no artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners, but it contained absolutely no strawberries at all.
4 Consumers have the rights to know clearly about what they have bought. Under current UK law, food packages do not have to distinguish between natural and artificial flavoring. “Describing a product as strawberry flavor and covering the surface of the packet with pictures of strawberries is misleading. 5 Unfortunately, it is also legal and widespread,” Tokelove said. “It’s time to take measures to protect the consumers’ rights.”
A.The products which contain real fruit are popular with people.
B.Even products advertised as more natural often contained no fruit.
C.They found that about 60 percent of them didn’t contain any fruit at all.
D.If companies can cut their costs by using flavoring, they are likely to do so.
E. It is important and necessary to demand a small amount of flavoring in the products.
F. Actually the product contains just a tiny percentage of strawberry or even no fruit at all.
G. The Food Commission suggested all flavors used in a product should be listed on the packaging.

Peer(同龄人)Pressure
Peer pressure is just part of the challenges in life. 66 If you need further guidance, this article might help you. It provides three effective tips to deal with it:
Be with friends who respect your beliefs
You can go out with people who accept and respect the things you believe in and those who you know you can share your interests with. It is all right to be choosy with friends because you just want what is best for them and you. 67 You are just exhibiting what you know is right and good for both sides. Your friends will understand you for that. They can drag you away from discrimination and you can be confident that they will not leave you for your stand in life.
68
When you are driven by so many peer pressures, you can always stay away from it. You can actually decide not to be one of them. When you have decided on it, learn to be firm with your decision. 69 They should know that you cannot be forced to do certain things because you are strong and firm with what you believe in.
Learn how to say no
Learning to say no is one big factor to deal with some pressures from all of your friends. When you are convinced to do something you know that can only destroy you or ruin you, learn to say no. 70 You cannot just say yes to anything. You have a functional mind and you know what is best for you. So learn to say no even if saying no means losing your friends.
A. Don’t blame others.
B. Have a firm decision.
C. You should know how to deal with it.
D. You can always deal with it positively.
E. Just be straightforward and say it without hesitation.

Teenagers learn by taking on more and more responsibility gradually. For many parents, this involves giving their children a limited amount of control over financial decisions.
If you give your teen some pocket money regularly, take the time to teach them how to manage their money. 1 Consider providing extra income opportunities to help them learn that money is something you earn, not something you can get for nothing.
2 Discuss with them such issues as what the car can be used for, who is responsible for gas and maintenance, and who can actually drive the car. Show them how auto insurance works.
Get them involved with your day-to-day personal finance decisions, such as grocery shopping. 3 Show them how to comparison shop, pointing out how much money you save through comparing prices and using coupons. Let them sit with you while you pay the bills, so they can see how much all the monthly expenses add up to.
Encourage teens to save their money toward a major purchase. Besides, you can offer to reward them for their savings. 4
5 You might even consider showing them your bills when you pay them. Too often, young adults who get their first credit card consider it as free money and find themselves in debt very quickly. Make them understand that the $50 they charge today costs a lot more if they don’t pay it off quickly.
A.Another effective tool is to get them involved in the car buying process. |
B.It’s easier to spend money than to earn it. |
C.Finally, it is important to show teens how credit cards work |
D.Establish an agreement on what the pocket money covers. |
E. This is a great way to teach them the relationship between building a savings account and the positive rewards that follow.
F. Without money, you can’t do anything.
G. Have them help you with the grocery list.
