    C．We have stayed at many excellent hotels in Aberdeen including the Skene House Rosemount and City Wharf Apartments．However，we would have no hesitation in saying the service we received at the Park Inn was second to none．Nothing seemed to be too much trouble．The hotel service personnel，in particular，was very charming and dealt with our heating problem in a helpful manner．
    D．I agree with other reviews，the apartment was excellent，well serviced，and looking out over the harbor was lovely．However，it was not situated in a quiet residential street as advertised，and it was more commercial．There was nowhere to park either，so we had to negotiate the Aberdeen one-way system to park in the nearest NCP．
    E．Our group of 10friends stayed 3nights in the Skene House Holborn．We all agreed that it was a really excellent place to stay．Before our stay，the staff had arranged golf outings for us with bus and  green fees included．They had thought of everything and it all worked like clockwork．The hotel staff were also very helpful and always smiling．
    F．My boyfriend and I recently stayed at your hotel for just over a week before our wedding!Well，one thing for sure-Skene House Holborn was clean and everything about the cottage we stayed at was brilliant．There was one problem with the place--no Internet access in rooms and you have to use the  computer located in the lobby!

    17．Let's face it．No one drinks diet sodas for the taste．People drink diet sodas in the hope that it will help them lose weight or at least keep them from gaining it．Yet it seems to have exactly the opposite effect，according to a new study．
     Researchers from the University of Texas said those who drank two or more diet sodas a day had waist size increases that were six times greater than those who didn't drink diet sodas．"What we saw was that the more diet sodas a person drank，the more weight they were likely to gain，"said Sharon Fowler．
     The study was based on data from 474 participants in a large，ongoing research project，where the participants were followed for nearly 10 years．
     While the findings are surprising，they also offer some explanations．
     Nutrition expert，Melanie Rogers，who works with overweight patients in New York，has found that when patients are switched from regular to diet sodas，they don't lose weight at all．"We weren't seeing weight loss necessarily，and that was confusing to us，"said Rogers．
     So why would diet soda cause weight gain？No one knows for sure yet，but it could be that people think they can eat more if they drink diet sodas，and so over-compensate（弥补） for the missing calories．
     A related study found some sweeteners （甜味剂）raised blood sugar levels in some mice．"Data from this and other potential studies suggest that the promotion of diet sodas and artificial sweeteners may be risky，"said Helen P．Hazuda，professor at School of Medicine of the University of Texas．"They may be free of calories，but not of consequences．"

    "Shoes convey a thin but useful slice of information about their wearers，"the authors wrote in the new study published in the Journal of Research in Personality．"Shoes serve a practical purpose，and also serve as nonverbal cues （暗示） with symbolic messages．People tend to pay attention to the shoes they and others wear．"
    Medical Daily notes that the number of detailed personality traits （特性） detected in the study include a person's general age，their gender，income，political affiliation，and other personality traits，including someone's emotional stability．
    Lead researcher OmriGillath said the judgments were based on the style，cost，color and condition of someone's shoes．In the study，63University of Kansas students looked at pictures showing 208different pairs of shoes worn by the study's participants．Volunteers in the study were photographed in their most commonly worn shoes，and then filled out a personality questionnaire．
    So，what do your shoes say about your personality？
    Some of the results were expected：People with higher incomes most commonly wore expensive shoes，and flashier footwear was typically worn by extroverts（外向性格的人）．
    However，some of the more specific results are interesting．For example，"practical and functional"shoes were generally worn by more"agreeable"people，while ankle boots were more closely aligned （与…结盟） with"aggressive"personalities．
