    Our government is trying hard to build the energy-saving society．It is everybody's duty to work hardly and reach this goal．But，not everybody has realized the important of it．Take our school for example．Sometimes we can see that lights and computers are still on after class．Some students even forget to turn on the tap after using it and have water run all the time．Our papers are printed on only one side，which causing much waste．It's time we did something to avoid this kind of waste．Firstly，make sure that all the lights and other electric facilities turned off when we leave the room．Try to form the habit of turning off the tap immediate after using it．What's more，papers should be printed on both sides and reuse if possible．

    Recite As You Study
    Reciting-saying things out loud should first take place as you read through each paragraph or section．Test yourself．This will help you to understand as well as learn faster because it is more active than reading or listening．It will also help y ou to notice your mistakes and the topics you have trouble understanding．
    Take Fuller Notes
    Notes should be in your own words，brief and clear．They should be tidy and easy to read．Writing notes will help you better than just underlining as you read，since it forces you to rewrite ideas in your own words．
    Study the Middle
    The best time to review is soon after you've learned something．You are more likely to remember the material at the beginning and the end of th e lesson，so make sure you focus on the middle when you review．
    Sleep on It
    Study before going to bed，unless you are very tired．It's easier to remember material you've just learned after sleeping than after an equal period of daytime activity，because your brain continues to think even after you've fallen asleep．
    Combine Memory and Understanding
    There are two ways to remember：by memorizing and by understanding．Multiplication tables（乘法表），telephone numbers，and math formulas are better learned by memorizing，while ideas are best learned by understanding．
    The more ways you have to think about an idea，the more meaning it will have； the more meaningful the learning，the better you can remember it．Pay attention to similarities in ideas and concepts，and then try to understand how they fit in with things you already know．Never be satisfied with anything less than a completely clear understanding of what you are reading．If you are not able to follow the thought，go back to the place where you first got confused and try again．

           Just the normal problems of living in any city，like watching out for pickpockets （扒手）．Some people think Los Angeles has a lot of crime，but I think it's as safe as any other city．Also，many people think driving is difficult because there is a lot of traffic and road rage （路怒症），but it just takes a little practice and a lot of patience．
    What are the people like in Los Angeles？
           There are all types of people in Los Angeles since the city is pretty diverse．For the most part，though，most of the people are friendly，calm and relaxed．Some people say that everyone in Los Angeles is beautiful，but I think that's just a stereotype （模式化的印象）．
    Would you go back to Los Angeles？
           Certainly．Los Angeles is one of my favorite cities in the world．I love the fact that it has all the nightlife and shopping of a big city，but also has access to beaches，parks，mountains and other places you can't usually find in large cities．Between the weather and the beaches and all the fun things to do，it's a great place to be．
