How to Love Your Parents Even if you think that your parents are meanspirited at times, loving your parents is a normal and fulfilling part of life. You love them for the fact that they created you, raised you,and are in part a source of who you are. Here are some ways to love your parents.

A gentle" good morning" and" I love you”will warm the coldest heart. Remember that they brought you into this world. Without your parents, you might still wander at an unknown corner in an unknown world. Respect them more and cherish these moments. You can use these moments to learn from them when you're off on your own. It's OK to get angry but angry actions don't help you or your parents. Act calmly, cool off, keep a journal about your feelings,or talk to a friend. 2       Obey their requests. It will make your attitude better and earn you more respect from them. It may seem like you are going through the hell when you don't get what you want or you have to clean. However, you had better remember they keep a roof over your head when it's cold, raining, snowing,or too hot. Understand that parents are human beings and make mistakes. 3       Since you can forgive your friends, why not forgive your parents?

Keep company with them. Do things with your parents like watching TV,or go somewhere with them. 4       Listen to their old stories and learn from them. You will find they are your teachers in this way or another.

Some people simply may not be able to love their parents. 5       Seek help if you are being abused in any way. Parents do not have a right to harm you.

   A. Forgiveness is the key.

   B. Tell them you love them every morning.

   C. Parents will in turn express their love to you.

   D. After this, share your feelings with your parents.

   E. Anyway, spend as much time with them as you can.

   F. Please remember parents are as important as friends.

   G. There can be realistic reasons for this, family violence for example.

1.         2.         3.                 4.       5.

本段作者劝告读者应多陪伴父母,文中"keep company with them "与选项E中"spend time with them "意思一致,故为正确答案。

5. G本句解释说明。由后文中关键词"being abused" ."harm you"可知,家长可能会伤害孩子。选项G中"family violence"有助于我们做出正确选择。

And since we were in the minority,we lose to the boys, who all wanted to go to the safari. We got the admission rate for students, which was greatly since I still had enough money to buy a brochure about the park as well as anything at the souvenir shops. The safari was scary but a really fun. As we took the ride through the park's dark jungle,we could see the eye of many creatures looked out at us. Most of the animals there sleep when there is sunlight and waked up at night.

The kitchen is one of the most important parts of the house. You may think that, since it's only used for cooking, there's no need to pay much attention to its color. 1       Color influences people's mood and creates an atmosphere, and surely you want to be in a good mood when you're cooking.

To decorate a kitchen, first look for a theme which will influence the color scheme (方案) .The most common colors in kitchens are white, yellow and other light colors. Kitchens are usually painted in one color to create a clean and neat look. 2       Also, since kitchens tend to have smaller windows, the light colors help make it brighter. Neutral colors such as gray and cream can also be used to create some contrast.

3       Start with your favorite color,or two light colors that balance each other. Make sure that you test them thoroughly first so that you can be sure they'll actually work. For more adventurous kitchen owners, three colors next to each other can also work. But these need to be carefully chosen, because one wrong color can ruin the whole look of the kitchen. When the kitchen color scheme has been chosen, other elements must be considered. Some important things, such as cupboards,in the kitchen can affect its look. Tiles (免砖) and the floor must be chosen to fit the look. 4       Last but not least,no matter what color scheme you use, make sure that it really is the one you want.5

       B   ★★★★☆

American restaurants have been talking about abolishing tipping for years. Now a major New York City restaurant group has announced a no-tip policy. The debate is starting to boil.

When Danny Meyer, the boss of the restaurant group, talks, people listen. He's been right before. When he (禁止) smoking at Union Square Cafe,he was told he’d go out of business. However, his business improved. Ten years later, smoking in restaurants was against the law. Starting in November 2015,tipping began to be abolished at his 13 restaurants, the first major restaurant group to do this. It's been all over the news and everyone has an opinion. “Why not earlier?” some say. “Americans will not,” others insist. It’s clear that tipping is just the tip of the iceberg (冰山) .Beneath the surface are questions of pay fairness, labor law and rising costs. Tipping was borrowed from Europe more than a century ago and has been abolished there. But here,it's a deep-rooted American cultural practice.

Usually, servers know there’s a higher chance that they’11 get a bigger tip on a bigger check,so they may push for more expensive items on the menu. Or they may rush customers out quickly to make room for new diners (and more tips!) . Basically, they may adjust accordingly to serve only the people they think will be the best tippers. Therefore,it is bad for customers.

Besides, many servers puKtips together,so your reward is shared. Tips provide  large part of their income. But that money can't be shared legally with the un-tipped,low-paid kitchen workers. No wonder there's a growing labor shortage in restaurant kitchens. Meyer tried to abolish tipping 20 years ago,but the waiters disagreed. Is the time right now? The dining world will listen and watch.

    C. spreads from Europe to America

   D. is disliked by most people in America

   A. How customers tip.

   B. What servers do to get tips,

    C. How tipping came about.

   D. What customers think of tips.

8. Why are kitchen workers in short supply?
