    Although being famous might sound like a dream come true, today’s star, feeling like zoo animals, face pressures that few of us can imagine. They are at the center of much of the world’s attention. Paparazzi (狗仔队) camp outside their homes, cameras ready. Tabloids (小报) publish thrilling stories about their personal lives. Eventually, they start to lose track of who they really are, seeing themselves the way their fans imagine them, not as the people they were before everyone knew their names. “Over time,” Villareal says, “they feel separated and alone.”

    The phenomenon of tracking celebrities has been around for ages. In the 4th century B.C., painters followed Alexander the Great into battle, hoping to picture his victories for his admirers. When Charles Dickens visited America in the 19th century, his sold-out readings attracted thousands of fans, leading him to complain about his lack of privacy(隐私). Tabloids(小报) of the 1920s and 1930s ran articles about film-stars in much the same way that modern tabloids and websites do.

    Being a public figure today, however, is a lot more difficult than it used to be. Superstars cannot move about without worrying about photographers with modern cameras. When they say something silly or do something ridiculous, there is always the Internet to spread the news in minutes and keep their “story” alive forever.

    If fame is so troublesome, why aren’t all celebrities running away from it? The answer is there are still ways to deal with it. Some stars stay calm by surrounding themselves with trusted friends and family or by escaping to remote places away from big cities. They focus not on how famous they are but on what they love to do or whatever made them famous in the first place.

    Sometimes a few celebrities can get a little justice. Still, even stars who enjoy full justice often complain about how hard their lives are. They are tired of being famous already.

    People in their sixties should go to university to retrain because they will be expected to work for longer before retirement, the Government has suggested.

    Older workers who take courses to keep their skills up-­to-­date will be more likely to keep their jobs, claims David Willetts, the higher education minister. He said the age limit on student loans to cover tuition fees had been lifted, making a degree course “great value” for older people. His comments followed a government report which found that the country's future economic success would depend on the skills and contributions of older workers.

    One in four people will be older than 65 by 2033 and economists have warned thatthe ageing population will place a heavy burden on taxpayers unless more people work for longer. The state pension age is to rise to 67 by 2028. Ministers have warned that they have no idea when younger workers in their thirties will be able to retire.

    Mr Willetts, who is accompanying David Cameron in India, urged workers older

    than 60 to give further education serious consideration.“There is certainly a

    pressure for continuing to get retrained and upskilled，”he said.“Higher education has an economic benefit in that if you stay up-­to­-date with knowledge and skills you will be more employable.”

    Mr Willetts said a university course had “wider” benefits, making people more likely to lead healthy lives.“Education is such a good thing that it is not reserved for only younger people，” he said.“ There will be people of all ages who will want to study. There is great value in lifelong learning.” Under previous rules, students in England would get a loan to cover tuition fees only if they were younger than 54.

    Latest figures showed that only 1,940 undergraduates starting courses last year were older than 60, out of a total of 552,240 students in Britain. Some 6,455 were aged between 50 and 60, according to the Higher Education Statistics Agency.

    Shenzhen’s transport police recently declared a policeman a “star” member of staff, after he continued to serve in his post even after losing his newborn son. After a netizen made that known, internet users were merciless in their criticism, claiming Sun had sacrificed his son for his career and was unqualified to be a father or even a human being.     I feel deeply sorry for this man. It’s not that he should have received the award. What annoys me is the netizens pouring anger on the father instead of showing sympathy. Why are they so quick to claim the moral high ground and set themselves up as judges? Whether the father accompanied his son until the last moment or not is a personal affair. The treatment of Sun is a case in point—of the “tyranny(专制)of the majority”. And the majority is not always correct or fair.

    Micro blogs have been a growing trend in China in the last few years, becoming a channel for ordinary people to express their opinions, which was previously the preserve of elites(精英) and the media. The positive side of this has been praised enough. But we also need to examine the downside: Self-proclaimed（自诩的）online arbiters of what is right and wrong form another type of unfair rule running cruelly over opinions that don’t match their own. Without knowing enough details and without any serious thought, they pronounce their judgment as opinion of the “majority”.

    We should question this expression of personal opinion and the commonness of group attacks. What we need is real, independent critical thinking instead of an Internet mob（暴徒）.

Facebook opened up to everyone, not just college students, and my co?workers started to join, which meant they now knew what I was doing when I wasn’t at work.

    And as a rule: you can NOT make friends with your coworkers because then they’ll ask you the next day. But I thought we were friends. And you are friends but not the kind of friends who tell each other what they do outside of work. So now the people you work with can see what you did last night, and you’re constantly worrying what people might say about what you did last night instead of actually doing anything tonight.So Iquit. I became a 30?year?old Luddite, a person who is strongly against technology development. I’ve retuned to how the world worked when I was 20, before I knew when my friends and co?workers were counting down the seconds to vacation or entering a complicated relationship.
