4.Actually,________ works hard can be ________ they want to be,whether it is a pilot,an engineer or a manager.( )
A.anyone; whoeverB.no matter who; whoever
C.whoever; no matter whatD.whoever; whatever

分析 实际上,无论是谁只要努力都可以干成想做的事,不管是飞行员,工程师还是经理.

解答 答案:D.
根据 can be ________ they want to be可知前面是主语从句,再结合whoever可引导名词性从句也可引导让步状语从句,no matter who只可引导让步状语从句,可排除B,再结合后面的表语从句,同样道理,只能填whatever,排除C,A项anyone 后需加上who 定语从句,所以A不对,故选D.

点评 本题考查主语从句及表语从句,疑问词加ever 无论…,在熟知whoever 与no matter who的区别基本上,很容易选出此题答案.

16.Back in the fifteenth century,in a tiny village near Nuremberg, lived a family with eighteen children.Eighteen! In order merely to keep food on the table for this mob,the father worked almost eighteen hours a day at his trade and any other paying chore(零工) he could find in the neighborhood.Despite their seemingly hopeless condition, two of the children had a dream that they both wanted to pursue their talent for art,but they knew full well that their father would never be financially able to send either of them to Nuremberg to study at the Academy.
