Simon’s Workshop
5：00pm–7：30pm Wednesdays at Victoria Stage
This is a good chance for anyone who wants to learn how to do comedy. The workshop looks at every kind of comedy, and practices many different ways of making people laugh. Simon is a comedian and actor who has 10 years’ experience of teaching comedy. His workshops are exciting and fun. An evening with Simon will give you the confidence to be funny.
Charlotte Stone
8：00pm–11：00pm Pizza World
Fine food with beautiful jazz music; this is a great evening out. Charlotte Stone will perform songs from her new best-selling CD, with James Pickering on the piano. The menu is Italian, with excellent meat and fresh fish, pizzas and pasta(面食). Book early to get a table. Our bar is open all day, and serves cocktails, coffee, beer, and white wine.

"I didn't hear them call my name," explained Shelley Hennig to Active Teens (AT) as she talked about that exciting moment on national television when she won the honor of Miss Teen USA 2004. "Are you ready?" is what she heard. Then she said, "I shook my head no, and then they said 'yes' and it was announced again."
It was four days after that life changing moment for the seventeen-year-old high school student from Destrehan, Louisiana — she was still on cloud nine.
"I was so shocked! I never believed that it could actually really happen." Present in the audience that day were: her mother and father, older brother, her friends, and her dance teacher.
Understanding why members of her family and her friends would be there, AT asked why her dance teacher had traveled so far to see her compete. "She's always been my role model. I've danced with her since I was six. She's been through so many difficulties and came through them all. I've learned to get over bad life's experiences and learned how to move on because of her."
One of those bad life's experiences for Shelley happened three years ago when her brother Brad was killed in a drunk driving accident. He was 18. She found writing helped her get through the rough days. She said, "I write a lot about my brother. I write a lot, a lot, a lot..."
As Miss Louisiana Teen, she traveled around the state speaking to teens about the dangers of drinking and driving. In her role as Miss Teen USA, Shelley will continue to speak to youth about safe driving, in addition to many other things to help the youth.
When AT asked Miss Teen USA if she had any advice for our readers, she said, "Don't let anyone change you. Hang out with people that make you feel good about yourself. That way, it is easy to be yourself."

For example, I am always surprised when my daughter, who is seldom close to me, holds my hand frequently. My stuttering (口吃的) son, Tom, doesn't stutter once during our activities since he doesn't have to struggle for a chance to speak. And another son, Sam, who's always a follower when around other children shines as a leader during our times together.
The “Mommy and Me” time allows us to be simply alone and away with each child-talking, sharing, and laughing, which has been the biggest gain. Every child deserves to be an only child at least once in a while.

Tu Youyou, the first Chinese Nobel Prize winner in medicine, who was born in 1930 in Zhejiang Province. She won the prize for his amazing contribution to the development of artemisinin (青蒿素), a highly effective treatment for malaria.（疟疾）Her story is considered an inspired one.
In the last century, many people suffered from malaria, a dead disease which took away many lives every year. So Tu was determined to find a cure with it. She worked as hard as she could, asked for neither fame or fortune. Eventually, her efforts paid off. Tu and her team discovered artemisinin in 1971, that proved an effective medicine for treating malaria. Since then millions of lives had been saved across the globe. Tu's successful story tells us that only if we are determined we go on the road to success.

On November 12, 2017, the student in our class paid visit to China Science and Technology Museum.
At 8:00, we left to China Science and Technology Museum by bus. At 8:30, a guide introduced it to us briefly and told us that what we should pay attention to during we visit. Ten minutes late, we began our visit. Some students took notes carefully as they visited. All the students were amazing at the rapidly achievements in science and technology. Three hours has gone by before we knew it. At 11:30, we returned to our school.

Last Friday, Just before the 66th National Day holiday, I conducted interview with James Watson, a famous American scientist, talk about how to become a successful scientist.
