I just came back from Britain last week. I was luckily enough to be one of the students from different country to visit the UK from Feb .16 to 28 . We paid a visit to a good many of places , like London ,Oxford or the Lake District . I learned much about British culture and history in London ,where was my favourite . I also liked Oxford , in which I saw much old buildings. The Lake District was beautiful , but it was pity that it rained heavily when they were there. The most excited thing for me in Britain was that I make a lot of friends there.

In my living room, there is a plaque that advises me to ¡°bloom ¡¾1¡¿ you are planted¡±. It reminds me of Dorothy. I got to know Dorothy in the early 1980s, when I was teaching Early Childhood Development through a program. The job ¡¾2¡¿ (responsible) required occasional visits to the classroom of each teacher in the program. Dorothy stands out in my memory as one ¡¾3¡¿ bloomed in her remote area.

Dorothy taught in a remote school near Harlan. To get to her school from the town of Harlan, I followed a road ¡¾4¡¿ (wind) around the mountain. In the eight-mile journey, I crossed the same railroad track five times, giving the possibility of ¡¾5¡¿ (catch) by the same train five times. Rather than feeling excited by this drive through mountains, I found it depressing. The poverty level was shocking and the small shabby houses gave me the greatest feeling of ¡¾6¡¿ (hope).

From the moment of my arrival at the little school, all my gloom disappeared. Upon arriving at Dorothy¡¯s classroom, I was greeted with smiling faces and treated like a queen. The children ¡¾7¡¿ (prepare) to show me their ¡¾8¡¿ (late) projects. Dorothy told me with a smile that they were serving poke greens salad and cornbread they made themselves for dinner.

Lonely ¡¾9¡¿ she was far away from the modern civilization and convenience, she never ran out of reports of exciting activities of her students. Her enthusiasm never cooled down. She passed all the tests ¡¾10¡¿ (excellent) and I found that Dorothy was really blooming where life had planted her.

My health is the only thing I really have in the world. You can take away my money, my house or my clothes, and I can survive. ¡¾1¡¿ That is why I eat healthily, exercise regularly, and keep up my social life.

¡¾2¡¿ I try to avoid foods high in fat like French fries or cookies. I also try to limit the amount of animal protein (µ°°×ÖÊ) I eat. I never eat more than a few ounces of fish or chicken a day and I rarely eat meat. I eat a lot of vegetables and fresh fruits which are full of fiber and vitamins.

¡¾3¡¿ Your muscles£¨¹Ç÷À£© must continue to be strong to support your body as it grows older. A regular exercise program of cardiovascular ( ÐÄѪ¹ÜµÄ ) training and weight training is an important part of keeping you healthy.

Friends are an important part of one's health. Studies have shown that people with a lot of social activities get fewer colds and have fewer complaints(±§Ô¹) than those who don't. ¡¾4¡¿ I like to laugh with my friends and I always feel better when I am with them than when I am alone.

By eating properly and exercising regularly, I can keep my body at an proper weight and can keep my health. By spending time with my friends, I can keep my mind as well as my body happy. ¡¾5¡¿

Grandma Moses was crazy about painting soon before she picked it up and worked hard at it. She painted careful and her works were nice. She first painted only to please oneself, and then began to sell her works with a little money. In 1993, a collector, Louis Caldor happen to see several of Grandma Moses¡¯ work hanging in a shop. He liked them, buying them at once, and set out to look for less. Caldor held a show to introduce the works of Grandma Moses other artists. Grandma Moses, who was world-famous, was died on December 13, 1961, at the age of 101£®

Time flies! This is a third year that I have been in this school. In the past two and a half years, our school had organized many activities. What impressed me best was an activity called ¡°Learning to Farm¡±. In an autumn afternoon, we were sent to a farm which we learned to plant potatoes. Having been in the city for so a long time, we were so happy to go to the countryside. After divided into 3 groups, we started to work. Some students cut potatoes into pieces; some dug holes, and the others put the pieces into the hole, put the earth back and pushed them down hard. We continued doing that until all the work was done. Although we were exhausted, but we felt fulfilled on our way back home.
