I¡¯ve been Britain for two years. My friends in China sometime write to me, asked me how long I¡¯ll stay here, and when I¡¯m thinking of returning home. The answer to their question is simple: I do not know how to return home. At the moment, I have no reason to return back to China. I like living in Britain: I enjoy meeting British people and travel around the country. I am expected to have more chances to eat the British food. My study is very interesting, and there are so many things I didn¡¯t know about Britain that I hope to discover it in the future.

May I have your attention, please?

I¡¯m glad to talk with ray plan for the last month before the college entrance examination.

First of all, as senior student of high school, studying is our most important task. I will focus on how to improve the efficiency of my study and how to improve my different skill, especially the ability to solving problems. Secondly, I should reasonable arrange my daily life. I¡¯m going to get up at about six in every morning and go to bed at half past ten at night and have a break at noon for an hour so that I had enough energy for my study every day. However, I will have sports for at least an hour to build up my body. Then, I will watch TV or listen to music for a short time, that can relieve my stress from hard work every day.

I hope my schedule can help you perform well in the coming college entrance examination.

Thank you!

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿Sydney¡¯s Royal Botanic Gardens are to start a war on gray-headed flying foxes. These super bats have invaded one of Australia¡¯s most famous public spaces. Officials have said the animals are destroying trees and have to move on.

These unwanted guests at Sydney¡¯s Royal Botanic Gardens look like tiny foxes with wings. Officials have estimated there are about 11,000 of them living in the harbor-side park. After inspecting damage to dozens of trees they now believe there are twice as many as previously thought. Branches have been breaking under the weight of these furry invaders and their droppings have been poisoning plants.

Help may well be at hand, however, in the shape of the ordinary garbage bin. The gardens¡¯ director Dr. Tim Entwistle hopes the unpleasant sounds of crashing bin lids will agitate the flying foxes and force them to move on. ¡°The way to disturb them is to use noises, so we¡¯ve used the loud noises made by rubbish bins in the past. You can also use speakers as long as you move the noise around, and what we¡¯ll do is to have a series of noises, at the beginning and end of the day. What we¡¯ve found in the past is that the flying foxes leave the gardens and go somewhere else,¡± said Tim.

The gray-headed flying fox is Australia¡¯s largest bat. It flies around at night using its eyes and a powerful sense of smell to search for fruit and flowers. Officials at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney have said they¡¯re optimistic the unwelcome colony can be uprooted. If and when the bats do move to other parts of the city they will of course then become someone else¡¯s problem.

¡¾1¡¿Why do people want to get rid of the flying foxes?

A. Because the gardens are important public places.

B. Because they are polluting the city.

C. Because many garbage bins have been damaged by them.

D. Because they¡¯re threatening the survival of trees and other plants.

¡¾2¡¿What are people doing to get rid of the flying foxes?

A. Shooting them. B. Making loud noises.

C. Shaking the trees hard. D. Cutting some trees down.

¡¾3¡¿Which of the following can replace the underlined ¡°agitate¡± in Paragraph 3?

A. excite B. kill

C. disturb D. discourage

¡¾4¡¿What does the writer imply from the last paragraph?

A. The bats will still stay in the gardens.

B. Some other areas will have to deal with the bats.

C. The grey-headed flying fox often eats trees.

D. The damage caused by the bats is serious.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿Careers in zoology are extremely varied and unique, and can provide incredible learning and work opportunities for anyone devoted to animal studies and welfare. Zoology, or the study of animals, is a wide field with many specialties, including research, conservation, veterinary (ÊÞÒ½µÄ) medicine, and the care of animals. For people with a love of animals and some training, dreams of careers in zoology may come true.

Some careers in zoology focus on research and scientific studies. These careers may allow those with a good theoretical science background to develop and run studies that improve human understanding of the animal world. Research in zoology can help create safer and more effective products for animals or can teach humans more about animal behavior in order to aid in conservation, breeding programs, and habitat preservation.

Careers in zoology that focus on conservation attach great importance to the continued survival and increased protection of animal species. Conservationists may work with political groups or governments to help make laws to protect and preserve animals, or may work in the field gathering information on potential threats to the health of global ecosystems. Some conservationists work in educational fields, trying to improve human efforts to save animals from extinction.

Animals are subject to illness and injury, and some careers in zoology help to create a safe, stable animal population. Veterinary medicine is an important specialty field, and may take several years of intensive training to qualify as a certified veterinarian. While many veterinarians focus on the small-animal practice of domestic pets, vets in rural areas often work with large farm animals and more adventurous veterinarians may work with exotic species in zoos and wildlife preserves. .

Humans love to observe animals, and modern-day zoos and wildlife preserves help meet that interest while providing facilities to assist with conservation programs. Zoology careers in zoos can range from overseeing breeding programs, to creating the proper diet for a deer, to cleaning the tiger¡¯s cage. Many volunteer and entry-level jobs are available for people that love animals.

¡¾1¡¿What is the purpose of researching on animals in zoology?

A. To help governments make laws.

B. To improve researchers¡¯ scientific knowledge.

C. To create safe and effective products for humans.

D. To educate people to protect animals.

¡¾2¡¿What can careers in zoology that focus on veterinary medicine help?

A. Better understand animals. B. Protect animals¡¯ health.

C. Clean the animals¡¯ cages. D. Increase the number of animals.

¡¾3¡¿Which of the following shows the structure of the whole passage?

(P1=paragraph 1; P2= paragraph 2; P3= paragraph 3; P4= paragraph 1; P5= paragraph 5;)

A. B.

C. D.

¡¾4¡¿What does the passage mainly present?

A. Volunteers¡¯ passion for zoology.

B. A new idea of careers in zoology.

C. Different types of careers in zoology.

D. Effective measures of animal protection.

The earthquake affects the students of the destroying areas in many ways. How can we help them? One expert says the child will have feelings of fear, angry and feel they are not safe after the quake. They will find it hardly to focus. They will tend to cry and shout and tremble. And they might be afraid to be alone. The teenagers will find it difficult to live in a balance way. If things get worse they might not be able to focus to their studies. He also say we can do something to help the children. The first thing is that to build up trust with them, and be their friend. Then you have to give them sense of safety. Thirdly, try to satisfy their psychological needs. Be a good listener whether he or she needs to talk.

It was 7:15 in the morning of February 8,2017. I was walking along Park Road towards the east while an old man came out of the park on the other sides of the street. Then I saw a yellow car drive up Third Street and made a right turn into Park Road. The next moment the car hit the man while she was crossing the road. He fell with a cry. The car didn¡¯t stop and drive off at full speed heading west. I noticed the driver was young woman wore a pair of glasses and the plate number was AC864. After two minutes later, I stopped a passed car and took the old man to the nearest hospital.
