【题目】Do people travel to the other side of the globe until a one-year-old baby? Is it a smart idea? I wonder if I was crazy. I had various adventures—hut this trip would be different. This South American adventure would be a unique life experience of mine. I had given up many activities in order to please a little person, because Anders’ needs had to come first. At 30 years old, it was a difficult change for me, and I was occasionally annoyed when I realized that my son had taken away so many things from me.
Argentina is a long way from my home. It was even longer when I was on the plane and sharing a seal with such an active little boy, but Anders and I made it without angering any other passengers or getting any dirty looks. And we look a rest on a regular schedule.
I wanted to do some hikes in Argentina and drive ten hours to the coast to see penguins. However, when I thought about my travel partner, I gave up these ideas. Instead, we just hung out by lakes, picking up stones and throwing them in the water. I took short hikes, running with Anders in die backpack, knowing that I had two hours before his tolerance gave out and the complaining started.
I discovered that traveling with a baby opens new doors that aren’t there for a solo traveler or couple. Anders helped me to slow down and look at the landscape closely. I got to see Argentina through someone else’s eyes. The traveling wasn’t as fast-paced as it would have been if I had been alone, but the details were amazing. Now I just have to absorb that insight into our life back home.

【题目】Patients trust health professionals as a source of advice on behavior change. However, many health professionals dodge giving advice on that. They find traditional behavior change strategies (方法) time-consuming to explain. Besides, it’s difficult for the patient to achieve. Furthermore, even when patients successfully start the recommended changes, the gains are often short-lived because few of the traditional behavior change strategies have built-in mecha-nisms for maintenance (保持).
Meanwhile, brief advice is usually based on advising patients on what to change and why (for example, reducing fat intake lo reduce the risk of heart attack). Psychologically, such advice can be followed only if conscious motivation is engaged. However, the effects are typically short-Jived because motivation and attention will decline. Brief advice on how to change, engaging automatic processes, may offer a valuable alternative with potential for long-term influence— habit.
Within psychology, we define “habits” as actions that are caused automatically in response to reminders. These reminders have been associated with performances. For example, automatically washing hands after using the toilet. Decades of psychological research consistently show that mere repetition of a simple action in a consistent context leads to the action being activated upon .following exposure to those contextual cues (环境暗示). Once starting of the action goes to outside reminders, dependence on conscious attention or motivational processes is reduced. Therefore habits are likely to remain even after conscious motivation or interest disappears.
【1】Which word can best replace the underlined word “dodge” in Paragraph 1?
A. Risk. B. Avoid.
C. Appreciate. D. Admit.
【2】What plays the key role in patients’ taking advice?
A. Reasons to change. B. Ways to change.
C. Increasing attention. D. Intended motivation.
【3】What may help to keep habits after interest disappears?
A. Outside reminders. B. Mere repetition.
C. Conscious attention. D. Brief advice.
【4】What is the passage mainly about?
A. Motivation to form habits. B. Conflicts between patients and professionals.
C. Habits to change behavior. D. Advice from professionals to patients.

【题目】七选五
Nail-biting(咬指甲) is one of the most common annoying habits in children. But you needn't worry too much and as soon as you realize what's causing nail-biting, you can help your child overcome and stop it. So, here's what you can do about it.
In some cases, children won't even realize they are biting their nails, let alone know why they are doing it. So make sure you have a conversation with your child (if he/she is old enough) and make him/her realize he/she is doing it and try to figure out why it's happening. It's important to agree on the level of your involvement. If he/she wants help, create a secret reminder that will make him/her stop without embarrassing him/her.
Give alternatives (替代物). Depending on the age of the child, there are several things that you can offer such as a small ball, Play-Doh games, or any kind of other small toys.
Use bitter solutions(溶液). Forcing a child to keep this solution on his/her fingers may feel like a punishment. Everything else will only lead to embarrassment and discouragement. Furthermore, some of these solutions contain pepper which burns if it enters a child's mouth or eyes. But if you have an adolescent child who wants to quit biting his/her nails, you may suggest and try out this solution.
A.It's also likely to continue as the child grows up.
B.Help the child become aware of the habit.
C.You should also consider asking for professional help.
D.Make an agreement on how you're going to stop it together.
E.The best thing children can do is communicate with their parents.
F.The child needs to go through the process painlessly and in agreement with you.
G.That will keep his/her hands occupied when he/she is likely to bite his/her nails.
