One of my happiest childhood memories were having dinner with my parents and two sisters. As a result, found that we seldom had a chance to get together, we decided we would set aside three evenings the week for a sit-down dinner. First we tried setting three fixed days for our experiment—Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays. After a couple of week of trying this plan, almost everyone was unhappy. For a while, the kids began to resist the idea. They said they would rather to spend the time with their friends or take part in some activities. Gradual, though, they began to see these evenings together for a very different way. We laughed a lot and we discussed about each other's problems. Since a few months, we all felt we had been able to build much strong relationships with the family than we had before.

【题目】My son Cameron who was 16 years old came up with this crazy idea to make his own survival show. Well I thought it was just another one of his “phases” but he began to sound more and more serious about it. He’s a big outdoors man and has always loved the idea of surviving in the woods by himself, but he has never done anything like this. Anyway, he somehow raised $4,000 for his idea. With the money he bought a nice camcorder(摄像机) ;that’s when I realized that he was really serious about this whole thing.
Cameron organized the trip all by himself. I just put out a few rules that he had to follow and rented a satellite phone so that he could contact us on his journey. My son traveled nearly 50 miles, while surviving for four days and three nights alone in the wilderness. He had no food or water, only his knife, and a camera. The journey was difficult as he traveled through valleys, up and down big waterfalls, all while he was filming his entire journey. The wilderness we dropped him off in was a wild forest that is made up of untouched land; he found his way to the beautiful lake where we picked him up. In the end he made the most amazing movie that I have ever seen in all my life.
My son’s courage should be recognized. That is why I am trying my hardest to get him seen by the rest of the world. Cameron recently turned 17. He already has plans for his next adventure and I have no hope in stopping him from completing it. This next summer he plans on surviving for two or three weeks on a desert island in Fiji or Tonga. 【题目】根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
No personal success, achievement, or goal, can be realized without self-discipline. It is the ability to control one's impulses, emotions, desires and behavior. To possess it is to be able to make the decisions, take the actions, and carry out your plan regardless of the obstacles, discomfort, or difficulties, that may come your way.
How to develop self-discipline? We'll explore it together.
· Start with baby steps. No process takes place overnight. So, begin by making the decision to go forward and learning what it takes to get there.
· Learn what motivates you and what your bad triggers are. Sometimes it is very difficult to fight off urges, so know the areas where your resistance is low and how to avoid those situations. Remove the temptations and surround yourself with encouraging items such as motivating slogans and pictures of what you want to achieve.
· Make certain behaviors a routine. Once you have decided what's important to you and which goals to strive for , establish a daily routine that will help you achieve them. They can put you in a negative frame of mind and hinder(阻碍)your self-discipline. A poor attitude can also be a bad habit.
Michael Jordan has always maintained that his greatness as a basketball player came as much from his willingness to work hard at his craft, as it did his talent. It was his desire through discipline and focus that made him one of the best basketball players ever. If it worked for him, it could certainly work for the rest of us.
A.What is self-discipline?
B.Engage in sports or activities.
C.Get inspiration from those you admire.
D.You can begin by learning about yourself !
E.If you try to do too much at once , you could injure yourself and have a setback.
F.Meanwhile, get rid of some of your bad, self-defeating habits, whatever they may be.
G.It does mean learning how to focus your mind and energies on your goals until they are accomplished.
