【题目】阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。续写的词数应为150左右。
Growing up on a small farm, I lived a life that I took for granted. My father worked in the city as a plumber(水暖工).He was not highly educated, but he was smart, looking at problems in an engineer’s way. He was a man made of leather, brass and chewing tobacco who tried to teach my brother and me useful things, including respect. He also had a temper and was strict with us for he would scold us when we made some careless mistakes. Sometimes, my father seemed like a distant enemy to me and I didn’t like him very much.
One day I came home from primary school and his car was already there. Once inside, I was told by my mother that he didn’t feel well. His back hurt. My father never missed work; in fact, when he came home, he went to the barn to work even more. I remember looking at him secretly around the corner as he lay on his bed in the middle of the day.
Later, my mother told me he got multiple myeloma(多发性骨髓瘤),a type of cancer. As the cancer grows, the person will shrink because the disease destroys the body’s energy and the abnormal antibodies cause problems for other cells and tissue. Bones eventually look like Swiss cheese, and when they break, they may never heal. But I didn’t realize that my father’s time was rather limited and just treated him the same way I used to.
For the last year of my fathers life, his entire day consisted df rising from his hospital bed in the living room and walking to his chair to sit and think. He was predictably in that chair when I came home one day during the ninth grade. I do not remember where my mother and brother were, but the two of us were alone.
Paragraph 1 :
He asked me to sit down and what he told me still moves me these decades Later.

At that moment, I realized that he was doing more than telling.

The research quizzed 1,000 women who work in offices and revealed that on a typical working day women prefer to have at least three snacks, which adds up to almost 500 calories.
Crisps were named as the top weak point of female workers, with an average of 135 bags eaten at work annually and 45 per cent of those surveyed admitting to having “hidden” food personally in the office.Unsurprisingly biscuits were also a favorite desk snack with 39%admitting to hiding away packets of biscuits and the average woman dipping 135 biscuits in their tea every year.Office“cake culture’’ likely has a role to play in the ninety slices of cake women are wolfing down each year. The study also revealed we’re indulging(放纵)our sweet tooth by ploughing through 90 packets of sweets and 45 doughnuts throughout the working year.
Just over a fifth of female workers admit they have absolutely no willpower when it comes to office treats, while three in ten say they eat the food purely because it's there.Women also mentioned being bored, tired or stressed as common reasons for them to eat more in the office.
The survey revealed that so-called “low fat’’ treats are actually adding to that yearly calorific total, with the average female employee consuming 45 packets of high-fat nuts and another 45 bags of sugary dried fruits, every year. The most popular times to reach for a snack are 10:30 am and 3:30 pm,with 48% of women saying they are always too hungry to wait until lunch.Women also admitted sugary coffees and energy drinks help get them through the day.

【题目】 I want to share with you a story from 28 years ago. My dad was a used car salesman. Every Thursday night, he would head off to Shreveport, LA for an auction (拍卖会). Most of the time, I drove a car over there for him so he could sell it at the auction.
One day I was riding with my dad when he noticed a hitch-hiker(搭便车的人) with a backpack. Without hesitation, he pulled the car over and offered him a ride. Dad asked him his name, and proceeded to talk to him about all sorts of things. Dad asked him where he was going. The hitch-hiker told him that he was heading for the west. I can’t recall why but he told Dad a lot of things that had occurred to him and that persuaded him to make that decision. He talked about the tragic events that occurred to him several years before. He was low in spirits, but I could see that the hitch-hiker’s attitude was changing as someone was really listening to him.
We drove 45 minutes before the hitch-hiker got off. We pulled over and Dad told him to keep his head up and things would start looking up for him soon. He reached into his pocket and handed the hitch-hiker a twenty-dollar bill. The guy smiled. He nearly lit up right there on the cold, dark highway.
We drove on and my dad did not say a single thing. I was still completely amazed by what I had just witnessed. I was always told by everyone never to pick up a hitch -hiker and yet my dad did it every single time he saw one. While reflecting upon that story I came to understand that just one single kind act could change someone’s life, and I am sure that my father’s deed made that poor man’s day.

A.The writer’s father offering him a free ride.
B.The writer’s father really listening to him.
C.The writer’s father agreeing to drive him to his destination.
D.The writer’s father talking to him about all sorts of things.
【2】The underlined words “that decision” in Para. 2 refer to______.
A.catching the carB.heading for the west
C.talking about his experiencesD.driving 45 minutes
【3】Which of the following words CANNOT be used to describe the father?

Last Friday, I was standing near a subway exit, tried to call a taxi. But no luck. Then I thought of the taxi-booking app my friend has recommended and I booked a taxi through my cellphone. Soon it came, and I stepped in, feeling pretty proudly of my high-tech way and satisfied with the convenience brought by the app. So later, I was upset to find that the driver was busy looking his cellphone to get the next order. It was just then when I began to worry about my safety. What’s bad, the driver’s informations might be unreliable. How can we passengers’ legal rights be protecting if something bad happens? So be careful when you use the taxi-booking app the next time.
