Remember when a trip to the supermarket was nothing more than a boring thing requiring little or no specialized knowledge? You could send your kids into a cart while you did shopping. On May 29,1973，Thomas Bradley，a black man，was elected mayor of Los Angeles.  Los Angeles is the third largest city in the United States，with a population of three million. About sixteen percent of the city's population are black.
