People today probably do not want to live as people thousands of years ago did, but scientists say that we would be much healthier if we ate as those ancient people did, cutting the amount of fatty, salty and sweet foods．

Kabul,Oct.28 (Xinhuanet)--- Unknown armed men in military uniform kidnapped(绑架) three staff of the United Nations in the Afghan capital city at broad daylight Thursday ,Afghan officials confirmed (确认).

“Three armed men in military uniform intercepted a UN car in Baraki area of Kabul city early afternoon and took away three persons including two women with them, “Rohullah, a witness at the site told Xinhua.

The kidnappers also badly beat up the Afghan driver of the UN car, added Rohullah who is a lorry driver in the city. The area has been watched over by UN guards.

UN officials as well as Afghan confirmed the incident but refused to provide further information. The three kidnapped , according to some officials , who are from Britain, Ireland and Kosovo, were working for the UN-sponsored Joint Electoral Management Body (JEMB) overseeing the first presidential elections held on Oct.9 across Afghanistan and in Iran and Pakistan.

This is the first time that such an incident has taken place in the Afghan capital over the last three years

Long bus rides are like television shows. They have a beginning, a middle, and an end with commercials(商业广告) thrown in every three or four minutes. The commercials are unavoidable. They happen whether you want them or not.       It may be the season to be joyful at the time of Christmas, but a psychologist in Columbus, Ohio says as many as one person in four has a chance of holiday depression this time of year.

      Dr. David Lowenstein says a lot of people “buy into the idea that the holidays should be a picture perfect, Norman Rockwell affair”, but he says that’s “unrealistic for most people”. Dr. Lowenstein says the potential is very high this time of year for psychological, physical and financial stress, so he recommends applying what he calls the “three R’s” to keep the holiday blues on the run.

      First, says the doctor, be Realistic. Don’t set overly high expectations, acknowledge feelings of sadness and don’t’ repress them. Rather, seek out social support and companionship, such as through a community group or church.

      The British film star Hugh Grant can’t seem to work out what women want.

      “There’s no girl who only wants bastards(坏种), and no girl who wants a nice guy(伙计). Women want both,” the British star tells the May issue of Talk magazine.
