The only highway to go to work that I had to drive on was closed down due to an accident on the bridge．A truck had hit the bridge and made it 　1 for any traffic to go over it．So in order to get to 2 I had to go a number of miles out of my way．

Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband were invited to spend the weekend at the husband’s employer’s home. My husband and I were talking about possible colors because it was time for painting the kitchen again．The children, sat nearby and suddenly 　1　 "Not the measuring stick!"

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80s came to the hospital. I heard him saying to the nurse that he was in hurry for an appointment(约会) at9:30.

My mother came to my bed, night after night, even long after my childhood years. She would 　1 down and push my long hair out of the way, and then kiss my forehead.

While in the army there was nothing I disliked so much as the map-reading course, for the simple reason that I always felt  1 even with a map in my hand.    In this modern world, we rush around all day, doing things, talking, emailing, sending and reading messages. We are always on, always connected, always thinking, always talking. There is no  1  for stillness.

    And when we are  2  to be still because we're in line for something, or waiting at a doctor's appointment, or on a bus or train,  we often  3  something to do. Some will play with mobile devices, others will read something. Being still isn't something we're  4  .

   This comes at a  5  : we lose that time for  6  , for observing and listening. We lose peace.

    And  7  yet: sometimes too much action is worse than no action at all. You can run around crazily, but get  8  done.

With excitement and enthusiasm we started our small business. No longer were we 1 to have a weekly paycheck (工资). We now were on our own to 2 an income to provide us with the money to live. 　 The words strengthen my determination and Byron's 　13　 that we could succeed. We did fall down, but we were 　14　 not to stay down! So, we stepped back and refocused. We came up with new products using remaining 15 . We redesigned our booth. We reconsidered our pricing system. And, we started making enough money to pay our 16 .

　 If we had done nothing, if we allowed ourselves to "stay down", then we would have 17 . But we made the choice to learn from our 18 , and we moved forward with more determination. I’ve always had strong opinions of how love should be expressed, but others had their own ways of showing care.
