Passing Your Love On
Waiting for the airplane to take off, I was happy to get a seat by myself. Just then, an air hostess approached me and asked, “Would you mind  36  your seat? A couple would like to sit together.” The only  37  seat was next to a girl with her arms in casts（石膏绷带）, a black-and-blue face, and a sad  38 . “No way am I going to sit there,” I thought immediately. But a soft voice spoke, “She needs help.” Finally, I  39  to move to that seat.
The girl was named Kathy. She had been in a car accident and  40  was on her way for  41 .

You must know the “ding dong ditch”. Person A rings Person B’s doorbell, and then quickly runs away or hides before Person B answers. Person B hurries to answer the door, only to find that no one’s there. After the  1 thing is repeated several times, this is called “ding dong ditch”.
Sharon Mardis, a single mother of four, told ABC News that she  2 a “ding dong ditch” when she  3  to her door at 1:00 am last night.

I used to hate being called upon in class mainly because I didn’t like attention drawn to myself. And  1    assigned（指定）a seat by the teacher, I always   2  to sit at the back of the classroom.
All this    3   after I joined a sports team. It began when a teacher suggested I try out for the basketball team. At first I thought it was a crazy   4   because I didn’t have a good sense of balance, nor did I have the   5  to keep pace with the others on the team and they would laugh at me. Now I have more self-confidence in myself.
